I don't see what's the problem? It's not like we've actively gone out to buy shitty Italian players. The ones we purchased have qualities which the team needs.

Storari
Bonucci
Motta
Aquilani
Pepe
Lanzafame

It's some of the players we had originally that I'm concerned about out of that group.
How many of those we'd have bought if they were Poles whose names end with -ski and they played in serie A?

Bonucci, Storari and Aquilani.

Lanzafamski, Pepski and Motski were never gonna be taken into consideration. NEVER.
Motta definitely was. Had a great start at Roma and yes, he did fade away, but all in all it's a low risk deal. I don't know about Lanzafame. I do think we never would have bought Pepe.

Lets be honest, we'd have never bought Motta if he was a Polish reserve RB in Roma and I doubt we'd have even thought about buying a 22-23 year old Bonucci if he was Polish defender playing in Bari.

Inter work that way. They don't look at the player's passport. Inter are about to win 6 trophies in a season. We're ItalJuve. We go after players who can't beat New Zealand and are inferior to Slovakia.

Yes Pizarro has a better pass than De Rossi has, but that's all. Pizarro could never do what De Rossi can. Pizarro can play so freely, because De Rossi allows him too. De Rossi, by being so complete, can adapt and cover and play reserved. Ability-wise he is still up there, you can see it in every touch. Remember, De Rossi started as a high central midfielder.

Roma's midfield would fall about without De Rossi. The team would lose all its function and structure.

You are blaming De Rossi for what you're praising Pizarro for - one good season. Pizarro last season was his finest, by far. Before that, he was mistake-prone and often a ghost. Like I said, Aquilani was his superiour by far. Pizarro the best playmaker since udine days? He was a ghost at Inter as well..

Why do I get the feeling this is about something else? :D

And Inter are exactly that: Internazionale. It's not abnormal for an Italian team to primarily buy Italian players. And I'm not sure I'm completely against it either. As for the strength of our team.. I don't like judging that in August.

I wasn't really talking about you. I think you're genuine. I think you're wrong, but I think you mean what you say.

But most people on this forum (which is what Dom was talking about originally) just hate him because he's so Roman and therefore fail to see his talent. Same goes for Totti, who all in all shows a lot of heart and IMO is a player to admire.
