Every year we hear how Genoa and Fiorentina are signing great players, and every year they fail.

Veloso - if he is that good than some bigger club would snapped him

Luca Toni - just imagine if we signed him, it would be disaster all over the forums

Criscito - How many of you guys prayed to sell him, and he played for them last season too, if he is that good than at least we would try to keep him, or some other club would try to buy him

Rannochia - is good, but we still need to see will he return to his old form, and if he returns he is gonna play for Inter

Rafinha - just a rumour nothing even close to official

And yes I really hate Genoa!!!

Gasperini won't like this squad. He made it clear that the Italian teams shouldn't sign so many foreigners and look, Genoa signs Eduardo, Rafinha, Veloso....
Seems to be a common trait, for coaches to be hypocrites.

Right, glad to see Gasperini sticking to his guns.

It was sort of a dumb premise anyway. But of course he's going to be a hypocrite and sign those guys. He probably knows his own theory is retarded.
I don't know many people who deliberately try to make themselves sound retarded.

Gasperini isn't the one who does the signing of players, Preziosi is.

Last season Gasperini complained publicly that Preziosi didn't sign the kind of players he wanted. And Gasperini wanted to keep players like Ranocchia, Bonucci and Acquafresca while Preziosi sent them on loan.

Its really up to you how you want to see these transfers, many people including me are impressed. I see them as a small team making impressive signings and becoming a better team. All of those players are good upgrades from what they used to have.
:agree:

Although I do not necessarily want those players at Juve, you have to applaud teams like Genoa and Fiorentina for their ambition, and bringing some exciting players to Serie A. It can only be good for the league.

I myself am pretty impressed by Genoa's mercato. They shouldn't be held to the same standards as Juve are, as they are two teams with completely different ambitions. The players they signed are an upgrade over what they already have, that indicates a positive Mercato as they are improving their team.

I do agree with Red and Jack though, in that several members here put too much of a negative spin on all things Juve sometimes, some it seems are still stuck in the past and expect Juventus to make Nedved and Thuram esque signings.

Here's a possible Udinese XI without any signings:

Handanovic
Isla Zapata Domizzi Pasquale
Candreva Inler Asamoah
Sanchez Floro Flores Di Natale

With just a decent new striker and defender, they look better than Genoa. Didn't give them much happiness last year. Three poor players in that team though, need to fix that.
Last season they can field this formation:
Handanovic
Zapata Domizzi/Felipe Lukovic
Isla Inler Asamoah Basta/Candreva
Sanchez Di Natale Pepe

They even have Quag 2 seasons ago, but look at where they finished.. Genoa team looks great on paper, and even our team looks great on paper last summer. I remember people jinx that we close our gap with Inter and we can win the scudetto but we ends up worse.. I actually don't care much people don't rate our signings Martinez and Pepe high as long as Del Neri and Marotta has his plan on mind and buy the players that suit their tactics and formation

I actually impress with their transfer too looking at the bargain price they get and compare it to the previous price tag of the player like Veloso and Rafinha.. And how they can loan one good prospect like Zucullini and get a decent GK in Eduardo..

Yep, look at this from the start of the season:

Handanovic
Isla Zapata Felipe Lukovic
Inler D'Agostino Asamoah
Sanchez Di Natale Pepe

Every single one of those players have been the target of a big club, perhaps apart from Lukovic. All of them excluding Lukovic have or have had a market value of more than 10 million and could be playing in top clubs, if we followed the rumours and hype.

Is Rafinha better than Isla? Is Veloso better than anyone in that midfield? Remains to be seen.

8 of them played at the world cup. More than any other Italian team except Inter.
