Comparison between last year and this year.

After 24 rounds last year we had:
13 wins- 8 draws- 3 defeats (44:21) 47 points

After 24 rounds this year we have:
14 wins- 5 draws - 5 defeats (39:21) 47 points

Our home and away records last year:
Home: 8-3-1 (24:4) 27 points
Away: 5-5-2 (20:17) 20 points

Our home and away record this year:
Home: 8-2-2 (23:10) 26 points
Away: 6-3-3 (16:11) 21 points

The other teams last year and this year after 24 rounds:
Inter last year 60 points , Inter this year 56 points
Roma last year 51 points, Roma this year 40 points
Milan last year 41 points, Milan this year 45 points
Fiorentina last year 42 points, Fiorentina this year 42 points
Lazio last year 26 points, Lazio this year 32 points
Napoli last year 30 points, Napoli this year 35 points
Genoa last year 32 points, Genoa this year 41 points
Atalanta last year 31 points, Atalanta this year 36 points
Palermo last year 31 points, Palermo this year 36 points
Etc.....

---------------------------------

The most important conclusion is that there is no improvement from last year and this year. We won 47 points after 24 rounds, we conceded the same number of goals and we even scored less than last year.

Of course, there are some excuses for that:
1. Unlike last year, we played 8 more important and tough matches in CL group/qualifiers.
2. Serie A is now stronger. Inter and Roma are doing worse than last year, while it's status quo with Fiorentina. But on the other hand, the mid-table teams are much stronger than last year. Genoa, Napoli, Atalanta, Lazio, Palermo... they're all stronger than in 07/08 and as you can see, they're all doing better than last year. Only the CL-less Milan are doing better this season, and even they aren't doing much better.

Before the season started, the big majority of juventuz members predicted this. Our team is stronger than last year, with more depth that will allow us to survive playing in CL and serie A, but the team isn't much stronger than it was, and that's why we won't do much, if any at all, better than we did in 2007/08.

Banning him would be wrong. Yes, he scored with his hand. No, the goal should not have stood. But you cannot seriously expect a professional football player who is playing in a derby between Milan and Inter to not take the opportunity. You cannot want Adriano to apologise. Players cheat, but it's part of the game. That's why we have referees.
agreed

there is no need for apology
