Yeah he was VERY good, and usually is, but I think he has been bit lost this season, in being mainly DM and limited overall movement. He isnt a great DM, but is jack of trades who needs to involved in overall play, but Mourinho him strictly as a DM who sits infront of the defence has made him look bleaker then he usually been.

And the main point I disagreed with is that you said he is more important then Zlatan (only reason we can get back in scudetto game is he is injured 2 months like he was last spring, Roma catched up to 11 pts lead), even isnt close to as important. Neither with Maicon.

Damn right. Alves is better offensively but not defensively. Maicon is better overall.

Too few underestimate Alves defending (a little with Maicon too) just because he is insanely great offensively, even if Maicon is more balanced.

What I meant is that Zlatan can be replaced somehow. He's vital for Inter that's true but a missing Cambiasso will turn their middle really messy.

Defenitely agree with that, except the last line. That shows how brilliant Alves is offensively, if he is better then someone who is fantastic offensively. Maicon is more balanced and solid, as he can function in any type of time, while Alves is bit more demanding with the conditions he needs to work as best as possible.

But despite thinking Maicon is in overall ze best consistently and effective wise, Alves is IMO clearly the more skilled and talented one offensively. He has the tools to compete with the best offensive mids etc, let alone just fullbacks.

I've seen them try it before and the two of them got in each other's way.

It might work if they played together more, but both are better when they basically have a whole wing to themself.

Adriano risks ban for D-day goal

Inter striker Adriano could face a ban for using his hand to score during yesterday's Milan derby.

The Brazilian was a hero for Jose Mourinho's side as he put them ahead at San Siro, but Milan were livid as the ball made contact with his arm.

Now the Italian Football Federation has announced that the incident will be reviewed by judge Gianpaolo Tosel tomorrow.

Fiorentina hitman Alberto Gilardino was given a two-game ban earlier in the season when he used his arm to score against Palermo.

If referee Roberto Rossetti states that he didn't whistle because Adriano's gesture was involuntary then he won't face action, but if he didn't see the use of a hand then he could be given a two-match suspension.

It would be a substantial blow for Adriano, who had made a case for a regular first-team place with a goal on the biggest of stages.
