    Jose and Julio lock horns

    Monday 27 October, 2008

Inter President Massimo Moratti has revealed that Jose Mourinho is involved in a spat with striker Julio Cruz.

Mourinho was in a ferocious mood after Inter's 0-0 draw with Genoa at San Siro yesterday.

The Portuguese tactician hit out at players who he saw as disobeying his orders and it seems he may have been sniping at Argentine marksman Cruz.

“I knew that Mourinho had raged at several of the strikers, but I didn't know that it was Cruz he was angry at,” Moratti said.

“It is a problem between the Coach and the player and it's not for me to intervene from my position.

“Mourinho will make his decisions based on how he wants his team to play and to express themselves on the pitch.

“I thought it was a good point against Genoa because it was important to stay top at a difficult time when we are playing every three days,” he concluded.

Another key player banned for a team about to play Inter...

Is there any precedent of players being banned for scoring with their hand?
Video replays have been reviewed this afternoon and the former Milan ace will now be banned for two games for “intentionally” scoring with his hand.

WTF? He was in a position where he could have had easily scored with his foot, why would he then "intentionally" fall down and punch it in with his hand? When I saw the situation I thought that it was quite clear that he didn't mean to put it in with his arm.

    What a joke...

He defenitely did it on purpose. And Inter next or not, players should face consequences for shameful actions like that. The problem isnt them penalising actions like this (its warranted), but FIGC are winging it so to speak, no real consistency but go case by case for the heck of it.

Remember few years ago when Adriano was banned for diving? Well he was the only one, no one else was banned for it since. Thats the problem, their policies are bit random even if valid for that case alone, no clear guidelines to enforce with, thats why even if Gila deserves it, its weird to do it because I doubt they will penalise everyone who scores with their hand on purpose. If they are to this time, they might aswell do it every time, or just let it be in general.

Wasn't Zalayeta banned for diving against us?? Or they reversed the decision in the end?? Can't remember well. Maybe they only reduced his ban??

I think Zalayeta's was reversed, not sure. But even if he was banned, 2 cases in several years, when its a league filled with divers, is quite ridicolous. Apparently they only care abour high profile cases of when the diver gets you a pk that wins the high profile game. Otherwise, dive til your hearts content.

Of goals and assists or all of them ?

You can find the goals info on channel4, the info about assists can be found on sport.alice.it, while the rest can be found on various sites, but sport.alice.it (click on calcio, then serie A, then statistiche and then giocatori) is the main source.
