OFFICIAL: Bologna hire Mihajlovic
Monday 3 November, 2008
Bologna have formally announced that they have relieved Daniele Arrigoni of his duties and hired Sinisa Mihajlovic as his replacement.

Arrigoni's position became untenable after Bologna lost 5-1 to lowly Cagliari on Sunday, a result President Francesca Menarini called 'undignified'.

The Felsinei are second from bottom after the opening 10 games of the season and have recorded just two wins in their first year back in the top flight.

Mihajlovic will be presented to the public tomorrow morning at a press conference scheduled for 11am.

The Serb will start his first game on Bologna's bench against fellow strugglers Roma on Sunday and is expected to name a Rossoblu legend as his assistant.

Former Italy goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca is among the front-runners for that position, as is Renato Villa.

Bologna is Mihajlovic's first job as a Coach. He was assistant to Roberto Mancini at Inter between 2006 and 2008.

Bologna were promoted from Serie B this summer, ending a three-year stint in Italy's Second Division.
