i dont know if its right, but he has been in football for 21 years and he sacked 27 coaches, that is simply astonishing! Around 15 or more in Venezia if am not mistaken.

I think he pondered the thought of acting as coach but then how would he sack himself.

Zamparini must be having a lot of fun with his team.

That would be sweet just to turn a club into a joke and fire people randomly.

Zampa is a legend. :lol2:
As much of a complete tool Zampa is to the media, you can't really question Zampa's commitment to Palermo.. He's took them from serie B minnows to UEFA cup hopefuls in a very short time and I think as a whole he's one the best things that happened to football in Palermo and apparently on a business level he's been running the club adequately

Palermo sack Colantuono!

Palermo have sensationally sacked Stefano Colantuono after just one game of the Serie A season and brought in Davide Ballardini.

Trigger-happy President Maurizio Zamparini has been outspoken in savagely criticising Colantuono after the Rosanero's opening defeat against Udinese.

The Sicilians were also sent crashing out of the Coppa Italia by lowly Ravenna and the notoriously impatient Zamparini has pulled the plug.

Zampa sacked Colantuono last November when Palermo were sixth in Serie A but reinstated him towards the end of the season.

The new man at the helm is Ballardini, who led Cagliari to safety with a remarkable second half of the 2007-08 campaign.

The players were told of the news at training this morning and Ballardini will take charge this afternoon.

It's a shame, Colantuono is a good coach.
