Jose Mourinho has greeted Ricardo Quaresma's arrival at Inter with enthusiasm. “He's the one I wanted.”
After months of uncertainty, Inter have finally swooped for Quaresma and completed the deal yesterday.
Mourinho reportedly forced President Massimo Moratti's hand to secure the services of Quaresma.
“I wanted Ricardo for ages but it only just became possible,” the Special One asserted.
“When I arrived at Inter I wanted three players - Amantino Mancini, Quaresma and Frank Lampard.
“The club did all it could for Lampard and when he changed his mind Muntari stepped in.
“I can only thank the President, Marco Branca and Gabriele Oriali for everything they have done - now they can go on holiday and leave it to me and the players.
“Quaresma's arrival comes at an important moment because the squad is balanced and has lots of options for formations.
“It's a shame that such a winner with so many titles to his name couldn't have arrived prior to our Italian Super Cup win, but I'm sure that he will have lots of honours to his name at the end of the season,” he concluded.
