Former Milan coaching great Arrigo Sacchi believes that Inter are still hot favourites for this year’s Scudetto but wouldn’t bet his house on it due to the Nerazzurri’s well-known tendency to collapse.
Inter had looked virtually guaranteed to win the championships several weeks ago, and indeed going into the final three matches of the season, they led Roma by a seemingly unassailable six points.
However a defeat to Milan in the derby, and a shock 2-2 home draw with Siena, has allowed Roma to close to within one point going into the final weekend.
Many people are starting to ask whether Inter could throw away the title once again, as they have on occasions in the past, most famously on May 5, 2002.
"Inter remains the favourite in the sprint for the Scudetto, as long as they do not lose their heads,” said Sacchi.
“The Nerazzurri suffer from a failure syndrome.
"I think the most entertaining team in this league is Roma, which has not spent much and did not have the budget of Inter."
Inter travel to Parma on Sunday afternoon, while Roma also make the trip to a relegation candidate, in the form of Catania.
