Fiorentina have been trying to tie up a deal for quite sometime now, but have finally succeeded after the player passed a medical, before agreeing personal terms.
The Viola will pay Partizan £5 million for the striker, who has scored 19 goals in 63 appearances for the Serbian outfit.
"I've bought an important player," said Fiorentina transfer chief Corvino.
"Jovetic wanted to come here, I've agreed to pay £5 million and can announce his purchase."
Jovetic, known as the ‘new Dejan Savicevic’, has won one cap for the Montenegrin national team, and is part of an exciting batch of youngsters from the newly independent country.
The forward joins the youth brigade already present in Florence, players such as Riccardo Montolivo, Marco Donadel, Giampaolo Pazzini and Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
