Kaka on Time 100 influential list

Kaka has been named among Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world and is the only football player in the list.

The Milan hero was included under the category 'Heroes and Pioneers’ along with the likes of Andre Agassi, Lance Armstrong and Oscar Pistorius.

Kaka will be one of the 100 faces on the cover to be released on May 12 and he could not hide his satisfaction.

“When I heard the news I was really moved, because this is a wonderful moment,” he smiled on Milan Channel.

“I consider it a great satisfaction. To be among the 100 most influential people in the world is a remarkable privilege.

“To see my name there in that list along with 99 other personalities of world renown makes me very happy.”

Considering the splash David Beckham made in the States, it is interesting to note Kaka is the only football player on the list.

“It is not easy to make a mark on the American media. They have their own market and their favourite sports. Allowing me, a soccer player, to be part of this list is a great feeling for which I thank God.”

The article on why Kaka deserves to be in Time magazine was written by Kasey Keller, the current Fulham goalkeeper who faced him in the World Cup with the U.S.

It has been quite a year for Kaka, who in the past 12 months won the Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup, Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year award.

“Do I feel as if I am a good communicator? Yes, it is a responsibility that we players have to take on, because today football is the most popular sport in the world.

“Everyone watches and follows the games, so players have a duty and a responsibility to transmit positive values.”

Kaka has said he would like to become a preacher after he retires from the sport.

What do you guys think about Milan-Inter?

I somehow think Milan is going to get 3 points.
im glad you think so :)

although we have scored 9 goals in our last two and Inter have struggled against the teams scraping a 1-0 and a 2-1, it will be a cracking match whatever lets hope Milan can win and take the points :)

I'd like the match to end in a draw. The scudetto winner still won't be decided and Milan will lose two points widening the gap between them and Fiorentina if the later succeeds to defeat Cagliari.

In 4 years they have won 1 premiership title. I don't see that as dominant. Chelsea was dominating English football for the past few years. They look like they can do it again this year.

My point was that players like Ronaldo have been playing for Manure for quite a while and haven't achieved too much.
Okay, and do you think we're going to achieve much this year and next year? It takes time to build a good squad, and that is exactly what Manure have done, basing it upon youngsters such as Ronaldo and Rooney. Success takes time, you know. It doesn't come over night.

Only Chelsea has the power to spend copious amounts of money and have success in two nights. This is why we need to build a good young squad, bring them along well, and then have a dominant squad for a number of years down the road.

I feel that some people here are really shortsighted when it comes to our possibilities for success in the short term. Remember, Nedved and Del Piero are on their last legs. We need to find replacements for them now.

Man ure really haven't been domianant, it may seem so because Arsenal have performed so poorly in the second half of the season. Remember how far away CHelsea was from Manure? Now, they have the same number of points. It's because Manure have played so badly in so many games.

In the C.L, Manure didn't exactly convince everyone they deserve a place in the final. Really, they have been far from flawless. They have lost many points this season and had Arsenal continued playing the same way they were at the start of the season, we would be calling them Premier league winners.
As much as I hate Manure, nobody can question they have been the best side in the Premiership this season and last season.

Call me biased, but I really think Manure have been more fortunate than dominant this season.
Then honestly, I don't know of a dominant side in world football.

Please dont take this the wrong way guys but if you dont rebuild your squad you will be in the same situation as Milan, keeping the older players as you dont want to axe them as They add expirience etc in the long run its better to start getting the youth in while the likes of Del Piero and Nedved can still play as then the youth have time to intergrate into the squad and then fade in seamlessly when Del Piero and Nedved start to lose there Stamina unlike what happening at Milan where we are now axing the older players and throwing the youth in at the deepend like we did with Pato.
