We want Sheva back!

Milan captain Paolo Maldini and Massimo Ambrosini have told journalists they would welcome the return of former Rossoneri striker Andriy Shevchenko.

The Ukrainian hitman has been courted by the club after they went out of the Champions League at the second round stage to Arsenal last week.

Shevchenko, who left Milan for Chelsea in the summer of 2006, has struggled to hold down a first team place with the Blues and is currently playing in the London side’s reserves.

Speaking after their 3-1 victory at Empoli on Sunday, Maldini and Ambrosini endorsed President Silvio Berlusconi’s desire to re-sign the 31-year-old.

“At Milan there is always room for those who have done a lot,” explained Maldini. “There is always space for those who have left a mark on the history of the club.”

Shevchenko is the Diavolo’s second highest scorer of all-time after netting 127 times in 208 games.

Ambrosini was also excited about the possibility of seeing the former European Player of the Year in Rossonero once again.

“We cannot decide these things,” he noted. “I can only say that Sheva is a friend and that we will welcome him with enthusiasm if he were to leave London.”

There is some guy, Thiago Neves or something, who won the golden ball in Brazilian football last season.
I've never seen him but everyone who saw the guy says that he's a great and versatile midfielder.
And he probably is when you see the list of those who won the same award in last 10 years (Robinho, Tevez, Kaka, Alex, Romario, Marcelinho, Edmundo).
He's 23 and his nickname is Nedveds.

Anyway, Milan are strongly linked with him but the problem is that he is non-EU, just like Sheva and only one of them can be bought by Milan.
So, i'm all for Shevchenko in Milan again.

yeah he has really impressed me.

Udinese's scouting system is superb
it certainly is though i am sure Juve's is more impressive,it is simply the problem that young players do not gte the chance at Juve (at least in teh past) whereas at udinese they have little option but to field youngsters. right now is probably teh best time to be a young player at juve but the weight of expectation is so high that the creativity in these guys gets strangled out of them. i expect next season will see a return to bigger squad and less opportunities for our young guns

Totti answers Big Brother

Roma captain Francesco Totti made a surprise appearance in Italy’s Big Brother house yesterday evening.

The legendary No 10 took time out from his busy schedule to help the producers of the show play a trick on a contestant who is fanatical supporter of the Giallorossi and Totti.

The 31-year-old then went into the diary room for a question and answer session where presenter Alessia Marcuzzi asked him to nominate the two worst people in football.

“I have a good long list,” Totti chuckled. “But it is better not to name names. If I make a judgement it will be used against me.”

Er Pupone was ordered to appear in front of the Italian FA after he made a series of 'inflammatory’ comments last week.

Totti believed that Roma suffered at the hands of the referee in their match against Inter, which ended 1-1 after some questionable officiating nearly two weeks ago.

I don’t want to attack Inter - their players are good and they win on the pitch,” commented Totti. “But on the field they received help.”

In the studio Il Capitano gave the audience a look into his private life.

“I watch Big Brother,” he admitted. “My wife Ilary and I don’t watch it when we are in bed. We lie down, with slippers on, like any other mere mortals.”

“My seduction techniques? Simplicity and being normal.”

But when asked if a girl pleaded with him to stop going to the stadium in order to save their relationship, Totti’s priorities were made clear.

“If that was the case we would leave it be,” he grinned.
