A man with excellent taste is who that is.
You like every player from the 1994 world cup ? :p
You're the first guy outside Bulgaria who mentiones Yordan Lechkov as one of his favourite players.
I really liked that baldy myself. A hell of a player. Too bad Stoichkov took all the fame for himself and guys like Balakov and Lechkov were easily forgotten.

Ahh Lechkov, what a player.

I bare a grudge against that Bulgarian side because Aberdeen signed Kiriakov shortly after the World Cup and he just sat around on a big wage and contributed fuck all to the team.

Bastard.

Well yeah, everyone that played important roles in WC94 are absolute legends. I was only 8 years old but it easily remains as the best football experience for me. Basically because my NT ended up with the bronze medal.
But not only that. It was a fantastic tournament, all in all. I still watch the highlights on a regular basis.

Yeah, Bulgaria had a hell of a lot of high profile players and cult heros, as did Romania. I remember them all. Lechkov is the man. His header against Germany... unforgettable. :D

Wasn't Canko Cvetanov (Tsanko Tsvetanov) the one who played in Scotland, and i think it was Aberdeen exactly ?
Or Kiriakov also played there ?

Anyway, i never heard of Kiriakov before or after that world cup. He was a sub there actually but got his chance when one other player was injured and he replaced him. He played 2-3 good matches at the WC and that was it.

Yeah they were both at Aberdeen.

Tsvetanov was an OK player at first but got injured and was shipped out.

Kiriakov just sat around and refused to leave before the end of his contract.

Mancio blasts ‘biased’ Press
Friday 15 February, 2008

Inter boss Roberto Mancini has bemoaned the recent media witch-hunt and is focusing on seeing off Livorno tomorrow.

The Nerazzurri are pulling away with the Scudetto, but the nation’s Press have called their achievements into question after recent questionable refereeing decisions in their favour.

“It doesn’t seem right that people talk in a certain way when there is an incident that involves Inter while such things aren’t even discussed when it’s another team,” Mancini moaned on Sky Sport Italia.

“For example, after the game in Udine they didn’t discuss Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s disallowed goal in a match that we were playing with 10 men.

“A perfectly good goal was disallowed but it didn’t seem to me that anyone paid any attention.

“I understand that people are doing everything to put us under pressure and make us lose, but I think that all these episodes should be given equal spotlight.

“Everyone suffers from mistakes at some point, but it isn’t through any sinister motives. After the Calciopoli scandal it is in the past and won’t happen anymore, but referees can still make mistakes and always will.”

Livorno are on good form and returned from Milan with a draw against the Rossoneri in midweek.

“Livorno are a tough team,” Mancio admitted. “They chase hard and lately have been in good form. We will need to be totally focused.

“Under Fernando Orsi at the start of the campaign they looked a bit tired by their fixture demands, but with Giancarlo Camolese in charge they seem wiser.”

Mancini is ready to welcome back Portuguese veteran Luis Figo and Argentine striking star Hernan Crespo from injury problems.

“It is important for Crespo to play and score,” he said. “I hope that he can make up for lost time.

“Figo is in the squad and I think that it is best to reintegrate him slowly. He obviously won’t be playing a full 90 minutes.”
