Yeah i guess one of the best players in the world leaving Serie A does wonders for the league.Right?

First Shevchenko, and now Kaka.If anything, this gives Serie A a bad image when arguably the best player in the world chooses to leave because of security fears.Thats a lame excuse ofcourse, but you expect the press to take it that way?Hell no.I understand the anti-Milan sentiment when it comes to Kaka, and yes it would benefit Juventus as a club because Milan will become weaker, but it would give a reason to the Serie A haters to further degrade the league. One of the league's biggest attractions leaving for foriegn lands is NOT good when you think in terms fo the league itself.

I don't care whether serie a is weaker or stronger, i'm not serie a fan. I want Juventus win titles and don't give a shit for shit (kaka).

Maldini Looking Forward To Juve Clash

Milan captain Paolo Maldini had words of praise for Juventus ahead of their upcoming clash, while he describes next week’s trip to Cagliari as a must-win game.

The Rossoneri have had their worst start to a Serie A season in many years and are currently sitting in 11th place in the table.

Next weekend Milan travel to Sardinia to play struggling Cagliari, before the European champions then renew their famous duel with Juventus on December 2.

“It’s great because there’s such a great rivalry between the two clubs and Serie A isn’t the same without Juve,” Maldini told the Milan channel. “I think it’ll be a great spectacle.

“As for Cagliari we want to prove ourselves so badly and we are going there desperate to win as these matches are crucial.

“I think results will depend a lot on the start of the game as has happened for us a lot this season.”

Maldini has only recently returned to first-team action following a long spell on the sidelines injured.

The legendary defender is currently in his 23rd season at the club, having made his debut way back in January 1985.

Zanetti enters history books

Javier Zanetti has set a new record with 116 caps for Argentina, but his Inter teammate Esteban Cambiasso picked up an injury.

“I am very proud and happy,” he told the official Inter website. “It is not easy to reach an achievement like this and stay at the top level, especially in a country forever churning out new talents.”

'El Tractor’ made the historic appearance during last night’s 3-0 victory over Bolivia, surpassing the tally set by former Milan defender Fabian Ayala.

Curiously, both made their debut on the same day, during the game against Chile on November 16, 1994.

“I have always been proud to defend the colours of Argentina and every time I am called I come here with great desire and enthusiasm.”

Zanetti would have had even more caps had he not been surprisingly left out of the 2006 World Cup squad, but even after that snub he did not retire from international duty.

In his career for Argentina the 34-year-old has played 70 wins, 26 draws and 20 defeats, scoring a grand total of five goals.

However, there was also bad news for the Nerazzurri during the same game, as midfielder Cambiasso was stretchered off after a clash with Ronald Gutierrez.

The details of his injury are still unclear, but it would be a bitter blow to lose him as well, after Roberto Mancini lost Patrick Vieira, Dejan Stankovic and Luis Figo.
If he is out for a long time, it could be big.

Atalanta-Milan to be replayed
Monday 19 November, 2007
The abandoned Atalanta-Milan Week 12 fixture will be replayed behind closed doors and the Orobici have been hit by spectator sanctions.

The tragic death of Gabriele Sandri led to violent protests from sections of the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia on November 11.

After just seven minutes, the game was abandoned when the safety glass was broken despite attempts from Atalanta players to quell the protests.

There had been whispers that the game may be awarded as a 3-0 win to Milan, but instead the full 90 minutes will be played at a later date.

Atalanta have come under fire from the Press and the calcio community and the Curva Nord will now remain closed until March 31, 2008.

Meanwhile, Lazio have escaped action over reports of racist taunts aimed at Adrian Mutu during the Biancocelesti’s November 3 clash against Fiorentina.

Video evidence showed that Mutu was the victim of abusive chants, but there was no proof that they were discriminatory.

Juventus have been fined £12,000 after a banner reading “Ibrahimovic the grubby gypsy” was unveiled at Week 11’s Derby d’italia.

Blatter Blasts Un-Italian Inter

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has criticised Inter for the lack of Italians in their team and says that changes could come into effect as early as next month regarding foreign quotas.

Inter have been criticised for a number of years now over their lack of home-grown players, and they currently possess just one first-team player, Marco Materazzi, who is Italian.

Indeed out of the 28 players registered in the Nerazzurri’s senior squad, only five are Italian, with three of these being goalkeepers.

“I must re-iterate that it is just not on that an Italian club can only have three Europeans in their team, and not even a single player from their home country,” said Blatter.

“Look at Juventus, they have at least six Italians in their team. In December perhaps there will be some modifications in the European Union on the subject.

“At present limitations at this type of sporting level does not exist.”

There has been much debate in the footballing world over recent months whether restrictions should be introduced so that teams are forced to field a certain number of homegrown players.
