Hicks Wants Roma Takeover Now?
The co-owner of Liverpool FC, Tom Hicks, is lining up a takeover of AS Roma, according to reports in Italy.
The Dallas businessman has an estimated wealth of well over $1 billion and earlier this year bought a 50 per cent share in Premiership giants Liverpool.
However Hicks is now eyeing up the Italian Serie A and is trying to convince current President Franco Sensi to sell up.
Hicks already made initial enquiries a few months ago however he is now ready to step up the pressure.
The 61-year-old co-founded the investment firm Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst in 1989, and is also the chairman of Hicks Inc, which owns and runs the Southwest Sports Group - the company that owns MLB’s Texas Rangers, NHL’s Dallas Stars, and the Mesquite Championship Rodeo.
If Hicks was to take over Roma, it could spark the beginning of foreign ownership in Serie A.
Currently all 20 presidents in the top-flight are Italian, unlike the English Premier League which is now dominated by overseas owners.

Since 1999, during Franco Sensi's period in charge, Associazione Sportiva Roma has been a joint stock company. Currently Roma's shares are distributed between; 64.3% to Compagnia Italpetroli SpA (the Sensi family holding), 2.7% to ABN AMRO Holding NV, 2.5% to Danilo Coppola and 30.4% to other shareholders.
Along with Lazio and Juventus, i Lupi is one of only three Italian clubs quotated in Borsa Italiana .According to The Football Money League published by consultants Deloitte, in the season 2005–06, Roma was the twelfth highest earning football club in the world with an estimated revenue of €127 million.
Roma fans didn`t like this news. What do you think about it?I think its possible because Frano Sensi is so old and his daughter always gives like 10-15 mln euros for transfers in summer so all romanisti hate her.

If this happens we`ll get italian Chel$ki and wouldn`t like to see that.
