Laziomerda already 1-0 up against Catania. Rocchi scored in a chaotic Catania defence.
They won 2:0, Pandev scored in last minute.
I was hoping for a yellow card for Pandev or Ledesma because both of them were one yellow away from suspension but the ref didn't show Lazio a single yellow today.

This was Lazio's 3rd match in 6 days and they have one more match on Tuesday against Real Madrid.
I hope they'll be very very tired before next weekend match against us.

Mazzarri Tells Donadoni: 2008 Is Cassano’s Year

Sampdoria Coach Walter Mazzarri believes that Antonio Cassano will explode into life in 2008.

'Fantantonio’ is one of the most natural talents to come out of the peninsula in recent years, however he has never fulfilled his potential due to a wild personality.

The 25-year-old has fallen out with virtually every coach he has ever played under, and he has also struggled recently with weight and fitness problems.

However last Sunday Cassano showed just what the fuss was all about when Roma signed him for £20m as a teenager in 1999, with a sparkling individual performance for Sampdoria against Reggina.

The on-loan Real Madrid forward went on numerous mazy runs and set up the first goal in the 3-0 win with an exquisite pass for Claudio Bellucci.

“I am convinced that 2008 can be his best ever year,” said Mazzarri.

“If he plays against Udinese [this weekend] like he did against Reggina it will be confirmed why I signed him.

“Above all I see the consistency with how he is training – that is the key for him getting back to his best. The results of this will be seen on the field.”

Many believe that if Cassano can show consistency between now and the end of the season, he could force his way into Roberto Donadoni’s Italy squad for Euro 2008

Someone started losing ground ? :D
Here is our chance to put Fiorentina 5 points behind us.
Great goals tonight. Briliant assist by Amauri and briliant solo effort by Simplicio. Deserved win for Palermo.

He actually did but they were either too short for his liking or just didn't like them.
We had no-one in midfield Jack. We had good bench keeper (Abbiatti), solid enough defense-bench (Kovac, Chiellini, Pessotto, Balzaretti, Birindelli) , although we were really short of CB's, we had great attackers on the bench (Del Piero, Mutu, even Zalayeta) but our midfield subs were ...
We had Olivera, Giannichedda and Blasi, no-one else. That's why Capello was experimenting with Mutu in MR.

It's not a great bench, but Capello was really stubborn and he didn't give them a chance even when it didn't matter.
I remember how in April 2006 we lost from Arsenal 0:2 and we had the return leg in 7 days. In between we had a match against last placed Treviso, who were 99% relegated, we had 11 points advantage, and Capello played with full team, with our best players, who were still tired from the match against Arsenal.
It looked like he was punishing them for the bad display in London.

Milan Close In On Banega Deal
Reports in Italy suggest that AC Milan are very close to completing the signing of Boca Juniors starlet Ever Banega.

The 19-year-old is rated as one of Argentina’s most promising young midfielders and he was a star at his country’s successful FIFA Under-20 World Cup campaign in Canada during the summer.

Banega only made his professional debut for Boca in February of this year, but such was his impact that he was given a standing ovation by La Bombonera crowd in one of his first games for the club.

Last month Milan had a €10m offer for Banega turned down by Boca chairman Mauricio Macri, however the Rossoneri have now returned with an improved offer of €16m.

Banega and Boca Juniors should come face to face with Milan in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup next Sunday.

Negotiations will be carried out in Japan over the coming week, and it is expected that both sides will agree to a deal for Banega to join Milan either in January or in the summer.

The Rossoneri have been linked with a number of youngsters recently, and are also said to be close to signing Borussia Monchengladbach winger Marko Marin, referred to by some as the ‘German Cristiano Ronaldo’.

I'm totally against hyped south American young players who do few tricks and are the next big thing, but this kid is indeed special. Part of the super Argentinian trio (Banega-Maxi Moralez-Aguero) that won the world cup this summer. By watching him one may think that Redondo never stopped playing football. The merda will get another Pirlo but this one knows how to defend.
Shit :(

Great news that Fiorentina lost. Now we can leave them trailing by 5 points. Looks like it is going to be a race between us and Udinese for the 3rd spot and I think Udinese will fall down sooner or later.

We shouldn't forget Milan. They are 8 points behind us but they do have 1 match less and in case they win it, they'll be only 5 points behind us with 24 rounds to go. They'll have that Brazilian kid in attack from January and i believe they'll buy a player or two in winter mercato.
I hope the fight for 3rd place is going to be between us and Udinese, but i'm afraid it's going to be between us and Milan.

It will be sexy if Milan miss out on 4th place though. They'll have the same problems we did last summer. They'll find it harder to buy a super star (Ronaldinho, Zambrotta) and the names of their star players will be on the news every single day, saying how they'll not sign a new contract and leave Milan.
I want a revenge for all those "Buffon to Milan" rumours and now i want to see "Pirlo to Juve" , "Nesta to Juve" and even "Kaka to Juve rumours" :D
