John Fisher is preparing a €250mln bid for Roma but wants to keep the Sensi's involved & make Franco Sensi honorary president. The objective is to build a new stadium in the property of AS Roma, make Roma more global using the merchandising potential and most importantly investement in the team to keep them competetive & turn them from 2nd place finishers to winners. He is ready to buy Roma, including covering the debts of Italpetroli.

Kaka wins popularity contest Tuesday 18 March, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kaka has been voted the most popular player in Italy in a survey conducted by publisher Panini.

Over the course of two months, over 50,000 people were asked to select their favourite 11 and Kaka received more votes than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gigi Buffon, Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti.

The side consists of three Juventini, three Milan stars, three Inter men and one player from Roma and Genoa.

Genoa’s former Azzurrini midfield talent Marco Rossi is the most surprising selection.

The Panini “Top Team”:

Goalkeeper: Gigi Buffon (Juventus)
Defenders: Marco Materazzi (Inter), Paolo Maldini (Milan), Javier Zanetti (Inter)
Midfielders: Kaka (Milan), Marco Rossi (Genoa), Gennaro Gattuso (Milan), Pavel Nedved (Juventus)
Strikers: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter), Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus), Francesco Totti (Roma)

Yeah, that is pretty wild. I cannot imagine American money flowing into Italy as it has in the EPL. That seems so risky given the comparative ownership and investment climates.

Unless, of course, Roma kicks some ManU ass in the next round of the CL. :spliff:

(Not to mention what happens if some American changes the Roma kit to khaki pants and sweater vests.)

If they buy Roma this summer we`re in trouble since there will be many good available players. :pumpkin:

Also, without wages cap and with some rich American in charge it will be very hard to for us next season.
