I want the best possible result for Juve which means defeat or draw for Roma.

However the Draw seems more possible result in this match.
After this match with Milan and after Wednesday's derby with Lazio, Roma will have only the easy matches left because they will have all the big matches behind them (Juve, Inter, Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina, Palermo).
It will be extremely tough for us to catch them and win the second place.

That's why, even though Roma play CL and even thouhg it's nice to dream for the 2nd place, i believe our fight is to keep one of the 3rd or the 4th place and that's why Milan not winning this match is the best for Juve. Milan and Fiorentina are our main rivals till the end of the championship, it's not Roma.

:agree: Especially if Roma win CL, then we need that third spot.

the best thing is for Roma to win the match, then go on a losing streak in the league and give up the 2nd spot to us :D

imagine this:

Roma lose all their games and finish fifth. Juve finish 2nd and the purple kids to finish 3rd. Milan finish 4th, but Roma win the CL and thus take that fourth spot away from Milan :D

now that would be sweet.

De Rossi plays Diavolo's advocate
Saturday 15 March, 2008

Daniele De Rossi asks Milan what they’d rather have – a Champions League spot or the satisfaction of seeing Inter throw away the Scudetto?

The joking comment came ahead of tonight’s Stadio Olimpico showdown between Roma and the Rossoneri with both sides chasing crucial points.

“If I were Milan, I’d play a 'relaxed’ game,” he told Roma Channel, grinning from ear to ear.

“Between fourth place and the satisfaction of making Inter lose the Scudetto, I’d have no doubts what I would choose!”

The Nerazzurri seemed to have the title sewn up, but in recent weeks Roma have cut their lead down to just six points.

Roma need a victory to maintain the pressure at the top, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side also require points to chase Fiorentina for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

“We hope to win,” added De Rossi in a more serious mode. “We did so in the away leg earlier this season, but Milan have only one objective left and so it will be even tougher.”

No, the situation with Roma is different than it was with Milan.
If Roma win the CL the 3rd place won't be a must win because 3rd and 4th will still be the same and we'll have to play the CL qualifications in any case, no matter if we end 3rd or 4th.

Italy can not be represented by more than 4 teams in CL. Usually the teams placed from 1st-4th place in the standings play in CL but if the CL winner is a team outside top 4 then that team plays CL next year and takes the place of the 4th placed team.

That's why the situation with Milan was different. Because if they ended 5th and won the CL then the 4th placed team would have been transfered to UEFA Cup and top3 finish would have been a must for us in order to play CL, or at least CLQ.

Roma will not finish outside top 4 and that's why 3rd and 4th place are the same.

I do't think anyone would be surprised if Inter bottled it.
I would be surprised to be honest , they are out of the CL and have nothing but the scudetto to focus on . Roma on the other hand are fighting on both fronts .
Imagine what would happen to Moratti if Inter do lose . The poor guy would have a heart attack .

If we finish second and Roma win the CL, would we still qualify for the groups automatically?
Just guessing, but I would say we would have to play a qualifying game.
No, we will go directly to the groups, together with Inter and Roma.
Just like it happened this season when only Lazio played Q matches while Inter, Roma and Milan went directly to the group stages.
