Cruz: Don’t Compare Us With Cheating Juve
Juilo Cruz has hit out at those who are comparing the alleged favouritism that Inter are receiving this season to what Juventus were supposedly getting before Calciopoli.
There has been something of a storm in Serie A over the past month following a series of controversial refereeing decisions in games involving Inter.
Some sections of the press have claimed that Inter are being favoured by officials, while others are drawing comparisons between the Nerazzurri and Juventus in pre-Calciopoli times.
"The referees can make mistakes but if this is the case then it is not our fault,” said Cruz.
“Subservience is not a factor and I cannot stand the comparisons between us and the Juve of once upon a time.
“Then I was playing for Bologna and I noticed there was something strange going on.”
Cruz’s comments are sure to only add extra fire to the current slanging match between Inter and Juventus.
The two clubs have developed into the bitterest of enemies since the Calciopoli crisis, and only last week the two presidents Giovanni Cobolli Gigli and Massimo Moratti were undertaking a public feud through the newspapers regarding the legality of the 2002 Scudetto.
