Toro sack Zac! Monday 26 February, 2007

Gianni De Biasi has returned to the Torino bench after the struggling Granata fired Alberto Zaccheroni on Monday.
The Turin outfit suffered their sixth straight defeat on Saturday, losing 3-0 to Chievo and moving closer to the relegation zone, which is now only two points away.
Chief Urbano Cairo had confirmed his faith in Zaccheroni over the past few weeks, but was forced to take a decision after the embarrassing performance at the Stadio Bentegodi.
Zac had previously replaced De Biasi just three days before the start of the season, despite the former Brescia boss having lead Toro to promotion via the play-offs last season.
The tactician, who was never a fans’ favourite, had endured a difficult pre-season and Coppa Italia failure and was reportedly unhappy with the club’s transfer market moves, thus causing the separation in September.
“It is true, De Biasi will conduct his first training session on Monday afternoon,” confirmed CaIro.
Zaccheroni is the eighth Coach to be replaced in Serie A this season, the last one being Stefano Pioli who was fired by Parma to make way for Caudio Ranieri’s return to Italy.
