no his career was going downhill towards the end of his inter stint and yes that is a sad way to finish his career, especially at a club like inter
mikel hardly featured for his previous club? and besides he isnt the only one, what about the likes of kalou? - he was average at best. the point is chelsea over spend on players who are nowhere near their true market value

Grygera would be guaranteed a start at Juventus, be it at right-back or centre-back, yet that wouldn't be the case had he signed for Inter. Makes perfect sense. It's not as if any Interisti got excited over the prospect of signing the world player of the year that is Grygera.

Plus, Juve have Nedved in their ranks so that factor worked in your favor.

Juve signed the likes of Nedved, Buffon, Thuram, Salas, Vialli, Davids, Baggio, Vieira, Zlatan etc.. when they were already established stars at their clubs, so don't start with the crap about raising champions. juve have a habbit of making average or talented players to good ones, this season has shown that alone, which is y im confident grygera will succeed.

Zidane WAS a star in Bordeaux. He led a not so fashionable team to the UEFA Cup final and debuted for France at a very early age.

It's like saying that Deco wasn't a star before he joined Barca, just becasuse he was playing for Porto.

Depends on how you define a star. He was not a big name signing by any stretch of the imagination. Sure he played for Bordeaux, but so what? How many people knew about him? He played for France during Euro96 and he was no star, nor did he play like one.

We signed him for £3.2m, which is not a star signing at all.

Deco, on the other hand, won the biggest prize in all of Europe, and he was fairly well known before that also, also because of the Brazil/Portugal NT spotlight.

and what about zambrotta? who made him the player we know him to be? it wernt bari, juve have made him one of the most consistant players for years, so consistant i dont remember the last time he made a mistake a player who has adapted so well in full back roles, that was sumthing bari defo didnt do.

The difference between the established players Juve and Inter were buying ( until last year, because that "rule" won't go for this year's Inter) was Juve's players were turning to be even better than they were while playing for some other teams ( Nedved, Zidane, Buffon, Thuram, Cannavaro, Pippo...) while the ones Inter was buying ( most of them) were usually dissapointing and failed to find their form from the past ( Cannavaro, Killy, Van der Meyde,Veron, Davids, Peruzzi, Luciano, Farinos, Emre, Conçeiçao, Blanc, Jugovic,Baggio, Sousa, Sukur, Robby Keane, Panucci ...even Ronaldo and Seedorf).

This year Inter finally managed to find the right formula and none of the newcomers dissapointed so far , with some of them, like Zlatan, playing even better than they were in last year .

Inter DO tend to waste their players.Wether its because the players dont settle well in the envioronment,or because Inter have too big a squad to accomodate everyone,there have been a few players who came to Inter with a lot of promise,only to see their careers go downhill.

Inter was offered 50m in the first season Roman Abrahmovic took charge. Yes, that is just a season before, you guys decide to recinder his contract and with Moratti's good will decided to pay Vieri not to play for you guys. How about blowing 50m in a space of season?

Vieri move came totally unexpected from Inter management's perspectives. With the benefit of hindsight, I am sure Moratti would have kept him and put him on the bench. But in the end, it didn't really matter because Vieri was past his best.

I think Inter problem was they tended to practically change the first 11 every season, not to mention the coaches.

How could they be consistant then? No wonder they failed and the one to blame for this is unpatient Moratti.

If you look closely, Juventus and Milan winning squads were carefully picked and built through the years, something what Inter never did in past seasons.

This season the situation is different, every player is accomodated in their squad, the backbones of the squad like Cordoba, Materazzi, Cambiasso, Adriano, Stanković, Zanetti are already many seasons here and they added Maicon, Ibrahimović and Vieira who obviously adapt to different squads well.

IMO the only wizard coach of Inter was Hector Cuper, the man did some amazing job and if Moratti hanged on to him, Inter would be a powerhouse in the past seasons already.
