Inter slam 'ridiculous' Milan idea

Milan suggested a lottery decide who plays at San Siro first, but Inter dubbed this “ridiculous” and threatened to field the youth team against Juventus.

The change to the fixture list moved the postponed Serie A match Fiorentina-Milan to February 24 so that the Coppa Italia quarter-finals could all be played in the same week.

As both Milan and Inter are set to play these fixtures at home, the Rossoneri will welcome Udinese on January 27 and just 24 hours later the Nerazzurri take on Juventus.

Milan suggested a lottery to decide if they or Inter will play on a 'fresh' San Siro pitch.

“That is ridiculous,” slammed general manager Ernesto Paolillo. “The only thing we asked is that Inter play on Wednesday and Milan on Thursday.

“I don't see why the fixture list has been changed at all. I fully share the idea that if the games aren't switched around, Inter will field the youth team against Inter.”
