There's the obvious logic to Ancelotti fielding only a reserve squad for this match, given the upcoming CL final. However, I would argue that he'll get a better performance out of this squad against Palermo than with his first team anyway... they haven't played all too well in Serie A lately and don't get up for games that don't mean too much. The second squad will be much hungrier.
