I think Roma showed that although they have no chance of winning Serie A, they will play hand in who does - they'll cause trouble when they play the contenders.

Best game I've seen in a while, you have to be impressed with Totti's freekick, although his usual moaning to the ref has become soooo tiresome. How satisfying is to see Mexes and Ferrari struggle for Roma.

Roma - Inter took a major turn, first half was sloppy, the second was much better.

Everything looked better for Roma in that match, but man, that Cassano attitude is really .........

Inter still have a slight chance, but it's going to come down to Milan and Juve if you ask me.

Great goals by Parisi, Sheva, Recoba and Totti in week 5 :thumb:

I agree. Neither Inter nor Roma will compete for the gold.

Lazio may have some chances though.

Messina and Palermo are also up there..
Well, it has to be said that like many Serie A followers I was disappointed with Sampdoria, Parma and (at a lesser extent due to our rivalry) Fiorentina's displays. I think they have the potential to do much better but are simply not 'clicking' at the moment.

Kudos to Palermo, Messina and Lecce though.

Chivu back for Roma
Wednesday 6 October, 2004

There is some good news for Roma’s defensive problems after Cristian Chivu returned to training.

The Romanian hasn’t played so far this season after breaking a bone in his foot during the summer.

But the former Ajax ace took part in his first full training session on Tuesday and could be back for the Week 6 game at Livorno.

The Giallorossi have certainly missed him as they currently have the worst defensive record in Serie A along with Brescia.

The capital giants have conceded 12 goals in just five games after some disastrous performances.

Boss Gigi Del Neri will now have to decide whether to field him as a left-back or as a central defender as both Philippe Mexes and Matteo Ferrari continue to struggle.

Gaetano D’Agostino has also recovered from an injury, which suggests he could feature in the next League game.

The former Under-21 international may be fielded on the left of midfield seeing as Del Neri has few options in that position.

Good for Roma, although there are Roma fans' talks of Roma peforming better without Chivu.

Anyhow, it's still early to predict bout Serie A. I hope this season will go down to the wire like previous seasons. Yeahhh. Sigh, if we lose to Messina we'll be second
