could not agree more with this, put quite simply teh champions league is a cup competition and the best team does not always win a knock-out tournament. put all the top teams into a league is the only way to guage who is truly superior. you find that when juve, inter and milan were in the semi's of the CL then no-one in england proclaimed that serie a was the best in europe, instead all teh talk was of strength,luck,defending,etc....

the premiership is the most hyped league in the world, nothing more! serie a is in the doldrums at the moment but i would still rather watch a good tactical game rather than the kick-and-rush tactics of the premiership. looking at the defense of the champions manure gives you an honest idea of just how poor the level of defending is(chelsea are the exceptions)could a backline of neville-brown-ferdinand-heinze win serie a ?i seriously doubt it
yes very true, bozi. i think the money which has been injected into the EPL has further inflated the hype around the league.

I'm watching a rerun of Everton - Wigan (I'm not really WATCHING it no). And the commentators go on about "that's just the Premiership right there, tackles flying in from left to right", "he was too slow on the ball, you just can't afford that in the Premiership can you".

It's quite obvious the Premiership is marketing its own brand and that the LA Galaxy are the best team in the world.

saw the highlights didnt really woo me though, was more excited about spur's defeat after that perfect pre season and over excitment in the transfer market and they go concede a goal to some 5 mill striker from the championship
I had it playing as I was running errands and cleaning up. I thought it was better than the Pool and Man City matches. Im so glad the Spurs ate shit, Roy Keane punching someone would have made my day.:D
