I want to go, but no one flies to iraq from the UK, the issue iv always had is that there was an invasion plan but nothing else, they didnt have a clue what to do when they won, its terrible now but when the situation calms down and a democracy can be allowed to work the people will recieve a lot more freedom than under Sadam, it will take a long time and it was never going to be a quick thing to happen.

What makes you so sure they want democracy? The world doesn't work the same way everywhere. Those people are used to tribalism. They're wired to not to think of themselves as individuals which is the fundamental part of democracy.

I don think democracy is the way forward for iraq, I have always said that It was a tribal country and wouldn't work under a coaliion. But if the people that live in wha is known as iraq want any place on the world stage they have to have a unified government. Autocracy hasn't worked, democracy is the only other choice!

I think the folks in Iraq have had enough of being on the "world stage". After years of "Shock and Awe", I'm pretty sure they would be satisfied if they -- and everyone else -- could mind their own business.

Of Course the georaphic territory of Iraq should be a few seperate states.

The reason no post-war plan was because Rumsfeld use as he skills as an infighter to assume total information control and then dropped it as soon as the war started. So, in essecen you had one man, telling Bush and a former employee (Cheyney) the information in private instead of infront of the cabinet. This man also couldn't care less about Post-War reconstruction and he dismissed such plans out of hand in the run up to the wat. If you want somebody to blame, blame Rumsfeld.
