I got my interrail pass today. So tomorrow I'll fly to Barcelona and after that I'll travel east to Croatia. Then I'll continue travelling around in Eastern Europe for about three weeks, by train of course. ;)

I figured that I'll pass many places where people on the forum have either lived or stayed. So if you have some tips, please tell me. :)

Yeah, I've heard many good things about especially Krakow. At the moment it looks as if we are not going further north than Prague - we're trying to reduce the travelling as much as possible. How well do they speak english in Poland?

Always wanted to do Interrail but then I moved to The Hague and I had to spend 3h on a train if I wanted to visit my parents another 4h if I wanted to visit my sister. That kinda killed it.

So you won't be going to north-western europe then?

    Bring an umbrella.

Oh, and you're one week late - last Saturday it was the Gay Pride festival. Always good for a laugh :howler:

I just came to Krakow this morning. This place really is eastern europe. Prague was in many aspects a typical western european town but this place is just screaming communism. But I like it anyway, I'll visit Auschwitz later today.

I have packed for a summer trip which means no jacket, no warm sweater and especially no umbrella.

The swedish gay pride festival is kind of cool, the dutch version must be awesome

We visited Auschwitz, a horrible place. But Poland itself is not much better.
We were walking along the motorway trying to find Birkenau, my friend stops.
    - "That's the place I think"
    - "No, It's probably a factory there are people working there"
    - "Oh yeah, but what about that place?"
    - "No there's toys there, it's just a house" :D
