I thought England were supposed to be good, they're currently being outplayed by Belgium in every possible way.
I’ve seen you wildly overrate England and “The Prem” countless times on his forum. They are improving, but still far away from being a top class international team. And it shows, every time they play a team with actual quality.

I said before, the defence and goalkeeper and CM for England is still an issue. But this team doesn't have Sterling or Sancho and has a makeshift defence so this game won't show anything.

Yeah, it seems like they fooled me. Just seems like your average English side once again, one or two WC players with a some of mediocre bums and youngsters that don't justify the hype. I'm also not buying the hype around Sancho anymore, really don't see a future WC star in him tbh.

I'm off the England train and jumped on the Belgian bandwagon right now :snoop:

They have the opposite problems to Italy lol

If Italy had a WC striker like Kane, and fullbacks like TAA, they’d be fantastic

Was just gonna say. Such a shame they lack the quality up front, they'd have a very good team. But at least the mid is gonna be around for a while, so it can only get better.

Still, with a bit of luck they could be able to go far imo.

Keeper is a huge issue. Pickford is full of errors and Henderson doesn't see a minute for United. Pope is decent but Burnley are taking a battering this season and his confidence will be shot.

We hoped Kean was going to be the answer. He still might be 5 years down the line in typical Italian fashion, but he doesn't convince me that he has genuine international quality.

Maybe someone like Roberto Inglese is going to have a stellar season and cement his place for the next 5 years as veteran starter. Nothing would surprise me with Italian strikers.

Keeper has always been a big issue for England right? Last top class, consistent GK they had was David Seaman and even he was prone to the odd clanger.

Never convinced with Pickford. Another one of these “modern” goalkeepers who are only selected because of their supposed ball skills and ability to play the ball out safely, but lacks the fundamentals. And mentally seems fragile as well.

His technique is suspect. Maybe it even compounds his concentration.

See the England keeper coach picking him apart here: https://www.skysports.com/football/...-by-england-goalkeeper-coach-martyn-margetson

I consider Seaman a genuine top class keeper. He got lobbed a couple of times by Nayim and Ronaldinho but tbh I think they were equally flukes and brilliant as they were positional mistakes. He was by far the best of the last 30 years, since England had Ray Clemence, who, ironically, died today.

I don't like many English players, but I think Sancho's the real deal tbh. If you score 17 goals as a winger as a 19-20 year old, you have a lot of potential.

how it wasn't a straight red?
The ref's name was Turpin. Presumably his first name was Dick.

Just before that an Italian player had made a tough but fair challenge on a Pole and he obviously took exception to that. Watching his team barely touch the ball probably added to the frustration lol.

Absolute bottle from the ref.
