I really don't know so much about soccer in the USA, but hey, Donovan got me alright! Is Freddy Adu in the national team?
No, he hasn't received a call up in over a year. He hasn't fulfilled his potential but looking at some of the other players called up before, Freddy deserves another chance.

He's the best player I've ever played against.

He followed the momentum and didn't realize how offside he was. In any case, the ref blew the call... it was a goal before he even got his head to it.

But Nani owned the whole right flank on the night. He was raping Sergio Ramos and the inept Capdevila, Guernica-style. Portugal can live without Ronaldo, but they cannot live without Nani -- who is their biggest creator going the past couple of years.
I admit he's good, it's just the decisions he makes most of the time. It's like he doesn't think stuff through or believes he's good enough to pull off shit that's nearly impossible.

You played against him? Thats awesome. I remember when I was younger, he was the ultimate shit on CM and there was always reports of him going to Man utd. I didn't know that soccer is kind of popular in US though. Do you have many soccer-interested friends or what?

Yeah, played against him in high school. Soccer popularity is definitely growing in the US, as now it's pretty common to see folks wearing club kits and the like. And after Landycakes scored his goal against Algeria this summer, it seemed like my entire Facebook was filled with soccer fans.

I've got several friends who like futbol, a few of them are on here.

Surprisingly no, he just loved playing. Freddy was one of the least cocky players I've ever seen. He didn't really say much out there, but when he did, he said stuff like sorry or made compliments. Although he was only 13 at the time apparently, so that might have been why. He didn't really need to talk shit because he scored four or five goals on us, one a bike, so it was quite obvious we were dealing with a wonderkid. It was already known that he was one of the top talents in the country.

I was playing a holding midfield role. Adu dribbled around me a couple times. But towards the end of the match, I received the ball in the center of the pitch, turned up field, and nutmegged the player closing me down. After being beat, Freddy said something like, "oh man, that was good." :D

Lukaku bags two goals against Russia
And for the first time in a while, we managed to keep the 0 against a good opponent.
Lukaku was good, but Defour and Kompany were the two best players on the pitch.
I would be inclined to say we could do with Defour @ juve, too bad we aren't in need of a MC.
The club that will buy him from Standard, will gt theirself a great young MC.

When that goal was disallowed I yelled "Nani, you idiot!". I got some stares from the guys in the living room and then laughter. Coincidently 'Nani' means grandmother (maternal) in Urdu :D

Nani was onside though. Check the Spanish player on the floor playing him onside. Terrible decision but my god Ronaldo raped the Spanish defenders last night.

Yeah, he said in the Cape Town paper how he was mad that the US didn't pick him so he was going to destroy us in his debut.

He was shut down by a guy from Brondby and a guy from Red Bull. And on top of that he doesn't have a US passport.:D
I just read that interview, what a tool :D
