What he said about 'Mix':
hmmm don't think he is good enough for full blown international football yet, especially at the level of the US national team, and I've seen him live about 15 times in the last 6 months. He has great potential but lack a lot in physical strength and decision making.

Surprisingly no, he just loved playing. Freddy was one of the least cocky players I've ever seen. He didn't really say much out there, but when he did, he said stuff like sorry or made compliments. Although he was only 13 at the time apparently, so that might have been why. He didn't really need to talk shit because he scored four or five goals on us, one a bike, so it was quite obvious we were dealing with a wonderkid. It was already known that he was one of the top talents in the country.

I was playing a holding midfield role. Adu dribbled around me a couple times. But towards the end of the match, I received the ball in the center of the pitch, turned up field, and nutmegged the player closing me down. After being beat, Freddy said something like, "oh man, that was good." :D
 Sounded like a fun experience. He also sounds like a good guy just very unlucky he looked real good playing for aris in the greek league. I wouldn't mind Juve buyin him for real cheap ahahah

It hasn't been decided yet, but 2022 is as good as theirs.

Why the negative sentiment? May I ask why you don't want them to host the WC? Is it because of the weather? Because they're tackling that issue.
They have enough money to change the weather? Shit, that's some money :D

I oppose it because it is a country of 1.6m people with no football culture and a very small future football market, unlike South Africa in comparison. The only reason that they want to host it is because they can afford to, it's another extension of their financial penis to say 'look, we can do anything'.

Qatar are just throwing money at it because that's the only angle they have, they have to buy in guys like Zidane (he's a spokesman for Qatar because he is an arab of North African descent? :shifty:) and Alex Ferguson (the same guy who called the last 6 World Cups 'like going to the dentist', presumably because Scotland are too crap to qualify most of the time), give him an atlas and he wouldn't know where Qatar is.

But the main reason I don't think Qatar deserves it is simple, there are better bids, especially from USA, Australia and Japan (too soon for them imo). What gets me is Blatter and others saying that the Arab world deserves a World Cup. Fair enough, good point. But why Qatar? Why not a country that actually has some football history, fan base and future. Why not Egypt, or Morocco, or Saudi Arabia? Well we know FIFA are money grabbing whores, you only have to see their governmental requests with the ongoing 2018 bids. They want to be tax exempt, they want the majority of commercial rights, they want their own lanes on the highway FFS, they are the Mariah Carey of sports institutions. Of course Qatar will give them whatever they want with a cherry on top. I can picture the riyals in Sepp Blatter's eyes.

I can see why people would support an Arab bid but this isn't one that warrants a World Cup. It'll be the most sterilised and soulless World Cup in history, and that's going some.

In June and July, Qatar has an average temperature of 45 degrees Celsius. Even if they have the matches indoors with an air-conditioned pitch, who would actually want to go there? I can't see this World Cup being a hit.

Seems to me you can, but it's very difficult to obtain it. And the only bars and nightclubs are located in very expensive hotels.

Screw that, I'm not going there.

I saw a lot of foreigners in the stands yesterday. I've only transited through Doha so I haven no idea about it but I guess it's a bit of a mini-Dubai?

I think I have a good chance add doing Brazil 2014, so 2022 in Qatar is fine and they'll probably be the 2nd host team not to make to the 2nd round.
