I would have like to see those African clubs with some of these players though.
Well they need to stop being born and bredd in France first and foremost, dont you think?

If they choose their african/Carribean heritage/countries, like for example Sissoko did (even if some do it because they arent good enough), then its good, but they are perfectly in the right to make the other choice too and choose France, just like Balotelli did Italy (and the reverse, Rossi as an italian from abroad, did), because its simply natural to choose where you are born and lived all your life.

Serious or not, its infinitely stupid to compare this to clear mercenary stuff like Liedson and et al.

France is definitely not another Qatar. Those "Africans" are French.
There are some who are both African and French, like Vieira, Evra, Desailly, Makelele, Mandanda, etc.

Born in Africa and spent the first ~5-10 years there, and then moved to France where they started "learning" football.

@Alen,

Yes, but they still have the right to call themselves French. Because they lived there for a while, and France would have gave them the nationality whether they were footballers or not.

In Qatar, they never give the Qatari nationality to any foreigner(even Arabs) even if you've lived there all your life. Some families there have been in the country for generations, yet they still don't give them the nationality. Yet if you're a good footballer you can get it within months. Blatant double standards if you ask me.

Pffff, it's easy for you to say these things now that Seven is banned and he can't make fun of the Arab countries. :D

I completely agree, btw.

Yeah true, but its a matter of timing in a way so to speak, your parents immigrate when you are a little kid (Makalele 3, Vieira 7, Desailly adopted at 8), or your parents immigrate before you are born and give birth to you at your new country. Its either way children of immigrants who are grow up in that Country and more or less be defined by and identify with that country as an individual in various ways, despite their very close emotionally to their country of origin still (ones parents upbringing is real vital).

Bottomline they really arent there for a footballing reason, are they? Thats what matters. Not 16 year old footballer signed to a club in a country, and then choose to play for that country because you have no hope in hell to get to play for your country, like it has been for Eduardo ;)

Rossi should be playing for you guys no?
Well, Rossi is a traitor to the US, but that doesn't mean he's a traitor to himself.

Italians are still strange when it comes to this stuff. Some don't want Amauri just because he doesn't have an Italian last name.

This might be somewhat extreme, but some Italians could be racist.
