He will play maybe one good, one disaster, one good, one bad, in a 4 man back line.
He doesn't possess the necessary 1 on 1 tackling ability or the ability to turn and run. His hips are like cement, he has some of the worst agility I've seen out of a CB anywhere.
He needs direct protection at all times. He's a great sweeper but is much worse as a CB. I don't know how this can be argued if you watch any national team efforts or any time we had a 4 man back line.
Okay yes, you can pick out a few games where he was alright but he has disastrous performances way too consistently.
