That's OK - Del Neri said a couple of weeks ago as long as we have forwards we can score - and then we scored no goals for the two games following :)

Aquilani is just as paceless and probably even physically weaker

yeah, aquilani is a deep lying playmaker and that does not require pace but vision and passing ability, pirlo isnt faster either

martinez actually is a winger, and wingers need to have pace.

both for catania and the uruguay NT he used to play in a 4 3 3 formation at the flanks.
i can give you a link with his stats throughout all his carreer.

so in our 4 4 2 he is well adapted playing as a winger, basically its not so different

even krasic comes deep to help in defence and set up play.what wrong with that
+lately with chiellini and sorensen we have 2 defensive minded players on the side backs so martinez would be free to roam on the flanks.

whats wrong with that is that we bought a player who had done well in a different role than what we expect him to do for us. if anything, with two defensive minded fullbacks, it makes it even more important for the wingers to track back, just to get the ball and to help out the midfield. At catania, martinez looked more like a left wing forward, playing not far off where DP likes to be. cutting into the box, lots of tricks, decent pace...he seemed to have that final third left wing section, all to himself. we ask him to play much deeper, to tackle, to support a fullback who should be supporting him. he doesnt look natural as a wide left midfield in a 4-4-2, because its not his natural position. we ask him to cross, yet he prefers to dribble, play tricks, dart into the box and shoot. i feel a little sorry for him, but surely his prospective role in the team must have been discussed in depth, between martinez, marotta, del neri before the transfer????? still, it was a weird transfer, pricey and a definite gamble...its the only definite black mark against marotta, so far, to my eyes.

In the last week, Juventus lost the first Chiellini, Del Piero and then finally Motta for muscle injuries. The central defender he got to the rectus femoris contracture of the right thigh in the National Assembly. The captain, during training last Thursday, the eve of the big match between Roma and Juventus, was the victim of un'elongazione longus muscle of the left thigh. Finally, the right-back was forced to leave the 44 'of the Capitoline challenge for a groin problem. Luckily, this year's Uefa muscle injuries were in the media. Luckily, Vinovo not to blame. The Juventus Center, since 2006 (the year when he became the team's headquarters in Corso Galileo Ferraris), is under indictment for his incredible moisture and for the strange occurrence of accidents which occurred in the muscles of champions Juventus: over 180 in the last three years, including about 124 muscle. It will be a chance?

Juventus has repeatedly cleared the field of training including as a result of experts, and has repeatedly denied even the background that saw Capello, before 2006, to express negative opinions on the center, realizing the danger. Too bad the area is characterized by aquifers that make it too soft earth, transforming it into a heavy surface. Land that becomes even more dangerous in the winter months: slippery and icy. Have changed the technicians (five), the coaches have come and gone (many), but the constant of the last three seasons is just one: the injury. And the higher humidity and lower temperatures than in Turin are just facts, not journalistic ruminations. Despite the intervention and drainage pipes made by the company a few months ago, the situation has not changed. The players are still injured.

Hmmm! Perhaps they should lift the turf and put a thick layer of sand down before relaying the turf. My late father had that done when putting some turf down years ago. the ground there has remained firm for years. We get a load of rain on the west coast, but the lawn that has the sand under it is never boggy/muddy.

Fucking hell the number of muscle injuries is absolutely disgraceul. Pretty consistent too, obviously something is wrong with our medical team as they arent preparing the players properly. I'm sure the pitches at Vinovo must be pretty fucked too, seeing as many of these "mishaps" occur at training.

We really need to get this "curse" of ours sorted because we cant continue to sustain so many needless, preventable injuries season after season.
