Del Piero :

"What a Wednesday....! We can't do more than a draw during match day N° 24, thanks to Parma's very good performance as well: we didn't start off the match in the best of ways, but we did much better during the second half, creating many more opportunities to score than our opponents did. In spite of the draw we manage to gain points towards Inter that remains in second place because of last night's defeat against Fiorentina, and this makes things a little bit better, especially after I hit twice the crossbar with a penalty and a free kick (this didn't happen any more since 2003!)....now we must wait for Sunday's big match in Milan, but first there will be tomorrow's Olympic winter games opening: I will be there, as a torchbearer and as a spectator, and you?"

i hope this missed pentaly won't give him a dip in form. IMO its just bad luck yesterday, but this things happen in football. Better to miss it now and be there in the final stage of the season!

forza capitano!

He probably was a bit happy for Luca Bucci, a good friend of his. Even though he didn't do anything, it was the crossbar. Actually, a good kick from Del Piero - just bad luck. The posts were probably indeed lowered man ! Too many bars, it must be it.

Ale's torchbearer day is tomorrow. Who knows, we might even be able to see it :)

Ah, btw, thanks corvette for the video, I completely forgot to reply to your pm
If you are interested I could translate that too. :agree:

I translated it :)
It's not much, but since he talks about the olympics and polemics...

"Back to Italy, after the ref's bad day, the designations responsible Mattei suspended Antonio Dattilo, who refereed Juve-Udinese, and Roberto Rosetti, who refereed Livorno-Messina. Our correspondent Donatella Scarnati met Alex Del Piero."

- Football's polemics, here, in the Olympic Turin, seem so far. Seem, because we know that in the proximity of such matches it'll be difficult to keep them distant. Del Piero, more: sad for the polemics or happy for the goal?

Without any doubt happier for the goal.

- Shouldn't there be a truce also in football? Something like: there are the Olympics, let's behave a little.

There should be, there should be. But it depends on people's intelligence, mostly on how concepts are expressed and on how they are put into practice on the field.

- Football can't stop, but it would have been nice stopping for the Olympics.

Yeah, it's actually not a bad idea. It's just that we play too much. If we stop for two weeks, then we'd have to play every two days and the football's spectacle would suffer from it.

- You'll be also a torchbearer, on the 10th, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, that's true.

- Are you getting ready?

(laughing) Yeah, I'm trying to develop my run, I wouldn't want to cut a bad figure.

- What can the Olympics give to Turin?

They can bring lots of people coming here to visit it, because it's surely more beautiful than how it is said it is.

Luca Bucci was very happy too, I don't know if any of you noticed :(
But you'll get what you deserve, Bucci. Both you and that animal named Soviero... Wait and see.
