TORINO, 13 gennaio 2006 - Alessandro Del Piero ha ricevuto una telefonata di complimenti da Lapo Elkann e ripensa quando l’Avvocato lo battezzò Pinturicchio dicendogli: "Sei un giovane pittore poco conosciuto, impegnati a fare capolavori degni di Raffaello". Ale ne ha pitturati 185, splendidi. Martedì, dopo il numero 183, che lo rendeva capocannoniere della storia bianconera, Ale Del Piero avrebbe potuto puntare il dito contro l’allenatore che lo fa giocare poco. Altri l’hanno fatto. Invece ha rivolto il dito e un sorriso sereno verso il cielo dove abita suo padre Gino, che anni fa puntava i fari dell’auto verso il campetto di San Vendemiano per consentire al figlio di giocare anche al buio.
Turin January 13th 2006 - Alessandro Del Piero has received a congratulations phone call from Lapo Elkann and thinks back to when the Avvocato nicknamed him Pinturicchio telling him: "You're a young unknown painter, work to create masterpieces worthy of Raffaello's". Ale has painted 185 of them, all wonderful. On Tuesday, after the 183rd, that made him top scorer of the bianconera history, Ale Del Piero could have pointed the finger against the trainer that doesn't let him play much. Others have done it. Instead he pointed the finger and a serene smile to the heavens, where his dad Gino lives, the one that many years ago pointed the headlights of his car at the little field of San Vendemiano, to let his son play also when it was dark.
E’ a questa serenità, a questa forza morale che bisogna ricorrere se si cerca il segreto di quei 185 palloni. Pinturicchio non ha disperso energia cattiva, ha avuto fede in stesso, ha amato la sua maglia e ha banalmente fatto il massimo ogni volta che gli hanno chiesto di onorala. La gente (non solo juventina) lo ama per questo. Oggi Alessandro Del Piero è un uomo solido, realizzato. Pensa al Mondiale che gli consentirebbe di coronare una carriera già sontuosa, parla del figlio che un domani arriverà, lascia intravedere il bivio che lo aspetta: legarsi in eterno alla Juve o evitare che le ultimi immagini del suo film spettacolare siano quelle di un panchinaro? Del Piero vuole giocare ancora a lungo. Consegnarsi in esclusiva al popolo della Signora o soddisfare la curiosità di un’esperienza all’estero? Non direi che si rimette in gioco o che serve coraggio, visti l’età e i problemi che aveva a Roma. Io semmai mi rimetterei in gioco se andassi via dalla Juve. E si rimette in gioco Vieri con coraggio perché si considerano poco gli italiani all’estero. Un errore. Gente come Vialli e Zola hanno lasciato un segno importante".
