Alex launches Lippi warning Friday 20 January, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alessandro Del Piero has launched a humorous warning to Italy boss Marcello Lippi: Take me to the World Cup or I’ll slash your tyres!

The Juventus striker is on the fringes of the Azzurri squad after spending much of the past two years on the bench at club level and made the comments during an interview with Fiorello’s comedy show on Radiodue.

“If Lippi doesn’t bring me to the World Cup, I’ll slash his tyres and write offensive graffiti about him on every wall I find,” joked Del Piero. “I’ll also sink his yacht and hope Italy lose every game.”

Asked to answer common questions in his traditionally diplomatic manner, the forward then had to give a more 'realistic’ response, as written by the staff of the radio show.

These included queries such as, “Is the Scudetto race over?” and the answer: “Are you kidding? They’ll never catch us!”

He also noted that sitting on the bench at the Stadio Delle Alpi wasn’t such a bad way to spend an afternoon. “I can lounge about on the sidelines, put my feet up and see a team playing so well that I enjoy myself.”

However, Del Piero also sent a not so subtle assurance to his former Juventus boss Lippi. “Coach, my real answers came first!”

I actually think he meant that. I mean, let's look at the facts:
he gets paid millions for playing football. He's having a grand life, in every way, and whenever he does play the people think he's great because he managed to do a pass or something.

I found the mp3 of the interview on j1897. At a point they ask him to sing a Vasco Rossi's song (Italian singer). At first he sings in a serious way, then, after a couple of verses, he starts singing in a drunken, very Vasco Rossi's way :D

Suzuki company has chosen Alessandro Del Piero as the advertising man for releasing the new scooter Suzuki Burgman 400.

The sales campaign of the new scooter is expected to begin by a short film that will be shown on the tv in the next months with Del Piero, on the horseback of the Japanese scooter.

Del Piero, as a consequence, is called the Mister Burgman. The maxi-scooter will arrive to Italy next spring.
