I'm still puzzled by dp's failure at WC 2002. IIRC there were talkshows, newspaper articles, people in the streets discussing about whether or not Del Piero should be granted a starting role after his brilliant performance against Mexico. Because even besides the goal, that was one of the most influential subs anyone had ever seen. And than he played a GOOD game against South Corea. Italy only created dangerous attacks via the left side, which was Del Piero's. When he was taken off Italy lost all their offensive threat. And on numerous occasions it has been said that Trapattoni made a tactical blunder by pulling DP off at that time. So tell me, where exactly did DP fail?

This in a nutshell is why i have no regard whatsoever for journalists. This is enuff to make you wanna throw up

It seems every failing of this particular player is brought up but none of what he has actually done right for both club and country.

Blkah blah blah it is his fault that Italy did not win the Ec 1996, 2000 and 2004, was his bad they they diod not win wc 1998, 2002
Its nothing to do with the fact that Italy were not good enough, had a very pathetic midfield consisting in different periods of the likes of Dino Baggio, Di Biagio , and players of that ilk

The article said how he wished Vieri was at the end of the 2 chances Dp missed against France but i seem to remember Vieri missing a complete sitter against South Korea, numerous chances in euro2004 but of course the only thing the article can say is it was Dp's fault, Vieri was spared because Moreno and Trapatoni took the blame

The fact remains that no player in my living memory has carried a mediocre team to glory apart from maradona, not Zizou, not Platini, not Pele as they all played in outstanding teams. All the brazilian teams that Pele played for were outstanding with him being cream of the crop, Platini could not inspire a less than perfect France to glory in 1982 and 86 and with all Real's problrems and France's could not be solved by Zz. Italy did not win anything with baggio's goals so what all this nonsense

Then we come to Juve, it seems when Juve loses the league its Dp's fault but when they won it this season , its due to others like Buffon , Zlatan and Zambrotta

Excuse me, were Buffon and Zambrotta not playing 2 seasons ago when we lost our way? Did they not play far more matches than Dp? Were they beset by injuries like he was?
Now last season he blames Dp because we lost to Liverpool.
Oh really , how many goals did Zlatan score in the whole competition? well its 0 that is Zero, nought, nothing and he is a striker

But our tactics against Liverpool was all wrong anyways, balls in the air against an English team, what stupidity

But the guy scored 14 goals this season in the league and almost everyone 1 of them were significant

The were almost all either winners, the first goal of the game which is usually the most important against smaller teams

The game of the season , the showdown in Milan, no he didnot score but he played very well and we won but of cos to the writer, its irrelevant, he is more interested in his failings

Capello should be a legend to Juve fans, but he is not that popular and why is that, because he dropped their hero on way too many occasion

There is not a single journalist out there who knows more than a fan so that article should be filed under R for rubbish

Those who go to the stadium and chant his name for 5 minutes continously know far more than a hack who wants to sound interesting but he is not
Heh in case you didn't understand, that was written by a Juve fan not by a journalist.

Let me get this straight, you are the same person in another thread said you have never seen Maradona play before and he played in the wc 1994 just 11 years ago. You want to be taken seriously. Its got nothing to do with you godamned sex and do not ever throw that back at me or anyone here, there are loads of women who know their stuff about anything. You even have the guts to be correcting ppl's grammar even if English is not their mother tongue and you go on and spell pro-claim like thats a word.
From your posts, it seems you are a Man united and Roma fan, well its no wonder you are on here as your teams aint doing much nowadays
Dp might be past it in your view but so are mau united and Roma

So what if I never saw them play? Is this about maradona? is their some kind of bible that says I must? So, what all that says is I was born in 1987, ffs that is 7 years after my birth, you expect me to remember that?

I dont use my sex, so why would i throw it back at you?

TELL ME WHERE I HAVE EVER CORRECTED SOMEONE ON THEIR GRAMMER??? Hell, 99% of people here regardless of whether english is their main language have better grammar then I do, so dont evne try that.

Wow, what a comeback about Man Utd and Roma, I am distraught.

same arguments?... i doubt that.. i dont think you even read what we've been writing so far... in fact, i think you are the one who defended your own article by saying the same thing...you said we are blinded by ignorance.. because we are still defending him (here's a fact: i dont defend him, i am not even a big fan of him. i just dont think he deserves the treatment like you wrote on goal.com)... but how come you are not blinded?... and i never called you names either... check my post if you dont believe me... i respect women and i also think they deserve to do anything men can do (writing articles for example)...

and no, nicole... you are popular the moment post the article to goal.com... i think you knew it too.. i think the reason you picked DP for your article because you wanted the attention... maybe here.. because you know the DP fanatics will come back at you... yes, i'm dead sure you knew it... and now you got the attention... maybe a little bit different from what you've expected... and now you are emotional... because people are criticizing you.. imagine DP... he got that all the time... hehehe.. pretty ironic huh...

nicole, dont get me wrong... i'm not a big fan of his either... and for hell sure i'm not mad of you... you want debate?... i can do that with you all the time without having any bad feelings at all.. i knew you hate those dp fanatics... sometimes i even do, but really, it still is not dp's fault...

and now a golden question:

you have the first opportunity (maybe once in a lifetime) to write in goal.com... you might want to write about your clubs and all... and yet you still chose DP.. i dont get it...why? it's like you're about to die, but you decide to play with your neighbour's dog instead of having a good last time with your loved ones....

same argument, i aint just refering to this place, i am refering to every del piero fanboy their is, azzuri7 for an example, will not even acknowledge a simply fact like del piero isnt as good as he was, like i said i used to like him, he was once a great player, calling him just as good as he was is a disgrace to him. no-one here understood what i even wrote, i'll put it as plainly as I can...del piero is getting worse, agree or not just read the whole thing first, does any fan of serie a, really want to see him continue the way he is going? say capello does buy cassano, regardless of what anyone thinks here, who do you think capello is going to play? now he has mutu (and if he buys him) cassano as well, as everyone has so often pointed out, he was subbed so many times, what do you think his playing time will be like with those 2 as well? capello is a hard bastard, dont think he'll play him our of sentiment, he wont, so do you, do i or anyone else want to see him as a 5th choice striker? at least if he retired now, he'd go with dignity and grace.

and no, nicole... you are popular the moment post the article to goal.com... i think you knew it too.. i think the reason you picked DP for your article because you wanted the attention... maybe here.. because you know the DP fanatics will come back at you... yes, i'm dead sure you knew it... and now you got the attention... maybe a little bit different from what you've expected... and now you are emotional... because people are criticizing you.. imagine DP... he got that all the time... hehehe.. pretty ironic huh...
Its got nothing to do with my own popularity here, it was always going to be an unpopular subject.

nicole, dont get me wrong... i'm not a big fan of his either... and for hell sure i'm not mad of you... you want debate?... i can do that with you all the time without having any bad feelings at all.. i knew you hate those dp fanatics... sometimes i even do, but really, it still is not dp's fault...
i have nothing agianst anyone who likes him, despite what azzuri7 though, i couldnt of cared less he was his 'idol', i hate people who are ignorant are what is obvious.

and now a golden question:

It reality, I was offered to send in an article whenever I wanted, Zizou on this site is the head of the italian section, he asked me to write something for them, cause he believed my opinion deserved to be heard, i didnt know what to write about first so i choose the subject in which i had been talking about, plus both Man Utd's and Roma's problems are so obvious what is the point?

Man Utd: Where is the midfield??? A goalkeeper?

Roma: Need a coach badly, and some goddamn team spirit...

At least, I can admit those things

i never said he is good. to be frank, his performance is below par for his standard... but he's not getting worse... it's just inconsistent... up and down.. but he'll never be the player he once was... whether or not capello buys cassano (or dp getting sold).. it's now up to capello.. subbed so many times?.. is that a problem?... if a player couldnt stand being subbed, tell him not to play football anymore.. there were occasion where dp got angry after being subbed.. but every player is once in a while.. and.. the time when he was taken out was the time he's been performing well.. mark my word there.. well, not brilliant. if the retired now, he's a coward. that's even worse than playing for smaller clubs.

your opinion deserve to be heard?... hahahah.. do they have Opinion Exam?.. you must have scored 'A' then... but it's not right to go and slam other people, dont you think?... if your article was published here instead of goal.com, i might be one of the people who agree with you... because that kind of article should stay in a forum, not a place like goal.com...

manc and roma problems are not just those, my dear... they are a lot more than that... you might want to discuss them with me, if you like?... because my best friend is a manc fan, and i know a whole lot about the team i hated most... but still, i can have a good argument..

Okay, I am only going to say 1 thing, and I only want you to reply with 1 answer, depend on that, it depends if this argument continues...Is their no player on the planet better then Del Piero?

unpopular?... i say this back to you.. OPEN YOUR EYES...
Again, I said the TOPIC would be unpopular...

now this is weird.. you got nothing against his fans.. yet the one you're slamming are his fans... the so-called ignorant fans...
Yes, why would I care if anyone likes him? I dont care, I hate the people who like him AND are ignorant of what is happening, if someone came to me and saying, i like Del Piero, but I dont think we should play him anymore, I'd think that guy was right, but if someone came up to me saying he was still god, and world class, i'd hate their ignorance?

your opinion deserve to be heard?... hahahah.. do they have Opinion Exam?.. you must have scored 'A' then... but it's not right to go and slam other people, dont you think?... if your article was published here instead of goal.com, i might be one of the people who agree with you... because that kind of article should stay in a forum, not a place like goal.com...

Why not? Sorry am I the only person in the world to critize a player? are all players immune from it? is it illegal? why should it not of been on goal.com? Its an opinion of me, 1 person, they let alot of people put their own opinions up, and people comment on them, thats what a football site does.

If you want to talk about roma and man united, fine, but this is the wrong place.
