this has nothing to do with dp but u calling ronaldo shit now is crazy, have u ever watched madird play this season, he may not be ronaldo of old but he is still world class and for me still on eof top 3 strikers in the world (henry and shevchenko)

who cares if dp is classed as world class or not, hes loved by the fans and has delivered 6 titles for the old lady. and azzurris rite when he says all the big names rate him highly

the simple fact is dp was world class but isnt now and hasnt been for a long time, but like all great playsers he is still capable of those special moments which remind you of how good a player he is.

heres a quote from maradona from his autobiograohy, hes talking about dp and comparing him to zidane

on dp 'there you have it. This ones the opposite of zidane, he likes to play, he feels it in his soul. Between him and the french guy, i choose this one.'

if maradona thinks hes better than zidane then he must have at least been world class at some point

Everyone have to agree that Ronaldo isn't good as he used to be.That really doesn't metter if I like him orv not,simply I'm convinced that he is more popular now thanx to his numerous unsuccessful marriages.

im not saying hes as good as he used to be but hes still world class and only henry and sheva are better than him, just by his own high standards people have criticised him, bit like dp actually, in that hes suffering by the standards he used to play at

Not only Sheva and Henry,there are many more attackers better than Ronaldo.
And Del Piero is different story,he is the classic example of past hard injury player.But he is still a worldclass to me.

Absolutely TRUE!!! Coaches around the world seems to always remember Ronaldo of old, thats why he is chosen so often to recieve the player off the year trophy.

Ronaldo to me is nowhere near Schevchenko or Henry, infact I dont even think he plays better than Zlatan, sure he gets the goals but who woudlnt with that suppying power?

I guess some people really have different perceptions of world class.

I think some mistake the word world class, with just class or classy.

BAggio during his period at Brescia was not World Class, but he still was classy or played class football, the way he dribbled and his composure and technical skill u can still see he played with a class higher than many in football. But that doesnt make him world class at that time.
On the contrary during his time at Juventus and also Fiorentina he was World class, because he was simply performing among the best in the word (if not the best). And he did it consistantly during this period.

Now if many of u say Del Piero is still worldclass, Id disagree but I do think that Del Piero is a classy player, a player in terms of technical ability is simply at a different level than most players. Eto may be rated as a worldclass striker but to me and perhaps many. he is not a classy player, he relies on speed and pace but doesnt really have footballing abilities far better than most players.

Anyhow, I don't think Lippi,Ferguson,Maradona,Zidane,Baggio,Platini and many others are the blind ones when they call Dp a "World-Class" Player, I prefer to listen to these great names rather than lsning to a member here that doesn't know about what he's talking(am not talking about you here Codino)

This is wrong. The only two major recognitions are the "Ballon d'Or" (France Football) and the "Word Player of the Year" Award (FIFA). The rest is just secondary or unimportant.
Del Piero did prove to be the best between 96 ans 98. Everybody knows that.
