I'd like to see how many people would still watch their favourite team and/or player if it meant getting up 4-5am every week mostly on monday mornings.
I do it for the Boston Celtics, you can be sure I'll do it for Ale (If I'll ever find a stream for Australian football). Of course I hope I won't have too. Go Southampton.

I didn't mean just you, seeing as you are a massive DP but just generally people who watch the games in 'normal' hours.

Well, I hate them, but Liverpool could use some Ale. They look bad. Anyway:

While still quietly confident of pulling off the biggest signing in the history of Australian soccer, Pignata (SYDNEY FC chief executive) confirmed to The Australian that the deal was far from done.

"There's a lot of work ahead of us," Pignata said. "We are at a good stage but the fans should realise these things can take time and can be very complicated.

"It's not a matter of snapping your fingers. It takes time to land a great player like Alessandro Del Piero. But we (leading player agent and promoter Lou Sticca) will be doing our best to get the deal over the line. We just ask for a bit of patience."

I prefer Ale to sign for a European club (not Sion) because there will be more coverage on the telly for me...

...but if he signs for Sydney FC...

I will be there for Victory against Sydney FC Jan 26th for some stalking !!

About Sion, the situation is unclear. Ale's agent (not Stefano, another guy that works with them) says it's still an option, while that Italian media claims that it's impossible to sign player in the Swiss league after 31/8, even if he's a free agent. Anyway, Ale is more interested in Southampton and Sydney.

Del Piero fans don't look at this transfer from DP's point of view, but from their own. Which is normal. They want to watch Del Piero regularly, and preferably in CL and a better league. That's where the complains about him playing in Australia come from. It's fucked up for a European to find streams from the Australian league. Not to mention the time zone problem.
To me his career is over and done with. It ended against Napoli, possibly even against Atalanta. Even if he chooses to play in the EPL the great chapters of his career are now gone. So if Ale chooses to play in Australia and be happy, I'm all for it.
