Increasingly strong reports are linking Alessandro Del Piero with a new chapter of his career at Brazilian club Flamengo.

The World Cup winner is a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired this summer and he is still considering his options.

The American MLS was thought to be the most likely next step with NY Red Bulls, LA Galaxy and Montreal Impact showing interest.

Swiss side Sion, who have signed ex-Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso, have also been mentioned along with Argentina’s River Plate and Japanese club Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

However, increasingly strong reports from Brazil suggest Del Piero is in negotiations with Flamengo.

He’d inherit the Number 10 jersey worn in the past by Zico and Ronaldinho.
