Agree with Alen here, looks more like an own goal to me too. The intent from Alex was to cross the ball not to shoot it on goal and without player changing the direction, it'd have been a goal kick.
The intent doesn't matter in these situations.
There was a situation some years ago with Ronaldinho (vs Napoli I think). He crossed the ball and a Napoli player changed the direction of the cross and scored an owngoal. It was initially registered as an owngoal but after Galliani complained, they changed it to a goal by Dinho. And indeed, according to the rules it was a Ronaldinho goal because, willingly or not, Ronaldinho's cross was actually going towards the goal and if noone touched the ball it was gonna hit the target.
So, the intention doesn't matter. It matters if the ball was going into the goal before being deflected. In the above situation I'm not sure if DP's cross was gonna miss the goal or not, but it looks like it wasn't going in.
Still, it's not 100% clear if it was or not and that's where the confusion comes from.

To me too. I won't change my signature though. One goal less to the mighty 300, yaaayyy.
But wait, shouldn't it be 286 [+1] instead of 287 [+1]?
Where did you find one more goal?
