From another site:"I've always said that I take the champions into consideration. By that I don't mean just Totti, but also Del Piero and Di Natale".

If Ale will somehow get few chances and plays like a beast, maybe there's a chance. He's much better than Totti, and he'll be fresher in the summer, cause he doesn't play.

You do know that just sounds rather stupid? Imagine all coaches inviting those who don't play, just because they are 'fresh'. And your term for fresh can be replaced with rusty.

When you speak of 36-7 years old guys, freshness is very important.

And I don't want to remind you how many players- not even old- looked like shit in past tournaments after a long season.

But he will be rusty and he didn't show much to deserve a call up... so far.

Anyway... who's to be considered for that position anyway, bar those 3? Will they call samurai Osvaldo, Giovinco?

Like I said, if he'll get few chances and play well, maybe he'll get the call.

Prandelli will call up Balotelli, Pazzini and Giovinco for sure. He needs 2 more.

Tuttosport just did an article on how incredibly close he came to joining Parma in the beginning of his career.

Picturing him in a Parma-jersey is the stuff nightmares are made of...

why does he never play ?
So your opinion is that Ale can't play more than twice or three times a month that's why Conte doesn't use him even for 20 or 30 minutes when the team needs creativity?
It's funny cause last year Del piero was our best player and if i'm not mistaken he's only aged a year since then. Right?

It's funny since last year wasn't such a good year for a team. And this year we have better players in his place and we actually are doing better, beause we play those players that fit into our gameplan and our new style of play, and sadly DP doesn't fit in that style of play. That said I think he would be useful against opponents like siena in the last minutes if we can't break them down.

That's my point, I didn't say we should field Ale every match and thus playing a 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2 because the 4-3-3 doesn't suit him. My point from the beginning was that he still had something to offer, and i am sorry if I believe he'd offer more than a Borriello who is actually a worse version o Matri, or IQ and Amauri who are a few of the talent we've bought through the years.
Don't get me wrong, If we could field Benz, Higuain and JoJo i wouldn't moan why he won't use Del piero, what i'm saying is, while at home against Siena, in the 70th minute and the scoreline is 0-0, you have a Borriello on the Bench and a 43 year old Del piero, who do you choose to step up? :p
