Thirty fucking Eight-year old Giggs renews his contract with Man Utd and can still play in the MIDFIELD of a Premier League team with the high tempo and all, and our President and Coach don't believe Del piero can help this team. :sergio:

Girl awakes from coma after listening to Del Piero

Parents say 12-year-old reacted soon after message

(ANSA) - Rome, February 9 - A 12-year-old girl has come out of a two-week coma after listening to a video message from Juventus captain and former Italy forward Alessandro Del Piero.

The parents of Giada, a big Juventus supporter from the small southern town of Cerenzia, believe the footballer made an important contribution to the happy outcome. "That night (after listening to the message) something special happened," said the girl's father, Francesco.

"First she moved her hand and then after a few hours she called out 'mamma'. Then after about 24 hours she talked and asked for an ice-cream".

The girl's parents appealed for Del Piero's help via a charity after she fell ill and slipped on January 22.

In the message, he said: "Hello Giada, I'm Alessandro Del Piero. I hope you can wake up as soon as possible to watch lots of our and my games, to come and see us and, above all, get to know each other".

Hmm, not sure. Quite a while ago, I think. There used to be some other quote there before, not sure what.

Not sure.

Not sure, euhm...

See, your declaration of love got me all confused now. Heart racing, trouble breathing, and so on and so forth.
I doubt you had it before I put "perhaps you are the man I never met" in my sig

With twice more playing time Vucinic scored and assisted three times more than Del Piero and with the exception of the last games he was doing much more than Del Piero in almost every aspect. That's exactly why he is preferred to Del Piero. At the moment Vucinic is the superior player. So, not "lol at those stats". The only point that stands is that Vucinic has Marchisio and Vidal while Del Piero has Giaccherini and some other midfielder behind him (both have Pirlo).
My point was that stats could be very misleading. That's perhaps why you are too eager to use them all the time :p

So here's a little mathematics for you: One more assist for Del Piero and he'd have a better ratio, funny, isn't it :D That's how wrong it is if you base your judgment on stats, because for everyone who's seen our games this season, Vucinic has indeed been superior to Ale. Bringing stats is lolsy, because they don't even remotely suggest that Vucinic has had a good season with us (average season at best). You reckon that with my quote I didn't mean we need to kick Vuci's ass out of the team, quite on the contrary, what I'm saying is that using stats at times could be pretty fallacious.

Those were some class acts and had balls. Retiring while at the top. :agree: I think DD retired young too.
Those who retired at the peak of their careers? If anything, they weren't willing to take the risk of tarnishing their glorious careers.

Indeed.
Just that Buck's stats weren't misleading at all. They do reflect Del Piero's form this season. The stats would have been misleading if Del Piero scored and assisted more than he did.

No one in their right mind would want him to start games, but both stats and what we've seen on the pitch suggest that Ale could be a much more useful sub than Giac, Quag and Esti, who all seem to be higher than Alex in the pecking order.

100%

Giaccherini is surprisingly one of our very best players this year and by far the best sub. He's much better than Del Piero this year. Stat wise it's unfair to compare him to Del Piero because at the start Giacc played as a winger in 4-4-2 and in many matches he played as a central midfielder. Esti is used in different positions so his presence has little to do with Del Piero's absence. You have a case comparing Del Piero, Quag and Borriello. The three seem to be getting equal chances.
