His fading stats are still far better than many of those who earn more. Even at this age he offers far more than many of those who earn bigger wages. So when you mind his status in the club as well, you will for sure know that he must have been treated way better.
It's funny that our board totally forgot what business was when they signed Martinez for 12 mln, all ready to pay Pirlo his silly wages but they only care about business when it comes to extending the contract of the club legend for one year who is currently one of the team's better players.

I really needed some hours to put together my ideas before trying to express them here for you, you, that also this time made me feel special. Honestly, it's not that easy, because what happened yesterday left me with a lot of emotions feelings and significance. Today like 18 years ago... The only thing that has changed, is the way to express it all: as someone said yesterday, in 1993 i didn't have any cell phone while today there's Facebook
You have been always close to me, full of incredible passion and I have always felt it, all that helps me to go on, to look forward and to set new targets more challenging than ever. Now I have one more reason to remember the 5th of May, because yesterday I lived through wonderful moments, that have a great symbolic value for me, like a signature set on a new contract at the new Juventus stadium, the one that next year will become our home. I'll be happy to be there.
But even on this occasion I can't help thinking about the pitch, about the next three games awaiting for us and about the next season. All in all, yesterday's event is "just" a new start.
I think about tomorrow. But I want to express my gratitude, that is far from a formal one, my "thank you" is coming from my heart. First of all I want to thank Stefano, who is the best manager in the world for me ( and just think that it's not the best thing he can do: as my brother he's even better!).
A lot of thanks to Mr. Dario Tosetti, who's been working with me for many years, always being competent, professional and passionate. Lots of thanks to all my staff and to those who work behind the scenes.
Many thanks to the Juventus and to President Agnelli, who turned yesterday into a really special and important day for me: I'm really happy to have signed this contract with him, as I was happy to sign my first one with Giampiero Boniperti.

I agree, but contracts should account how many shirts are sold, or how many fans the player brings in, in which case only Buffon can rival DP in this and still he will fall behind a lot.
I usually don't count Juve finances and not bother how much is getting, but if it is the case where Del Piero's wages are lower then the half of the team then that is certainly disrespectful. Especially when he is offering the same and more then half of the team.
