La Repubblica: Today is the day. Stefano is meeting Juve's board, and they're about to close an agreement about Ale's contract extension. There won't be any signing today, maybe cause DP won't be in the meeting. Why? cause there's a training, and as Stefano says, "he doesn't miss trainings". Ale will sign a contract till June 2012, the question is about his salary. Today he earns 4M a season. Juve's offer is 1.5M for next season, but with bonuses, it may reach 2M. Ale wants 2M without the bonus, but they'll probably agree about 1.8M.

Lets hope we'll hear good news in the next 1-2 hours
Bonuses  The board trying to hustle Capitano. As if we're close to winning anything.

Del Piero agrees to pen new deal
Reports in Italy suggest Alessandro Del Piero has reached an agreement to extend his contract with Juventus for another year.

Del Piero's brother Stefano met Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta for talks on Tuesday afternoon.

A statement released on the club's website said: “In the course of the meeting, the common interest of both parties in continuing this relationship was confirmed and a path towards the definition of a new contract that will link Alessandro Del Piero to our black and white colours was outlined.

“New appointments are already planned to continue the work started today.”

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Stefano Del Piero will meet Marotta again next Monday.

The length of the contract is said to be one year. Juventus are keen to ensure that Del Piero earns less than €2m a season, bonuses included.

It's thought that Del Piero had started by asking for annual wage packet worth €3m, but the overwhelming sensation is that he will accept what's in the club's interest.

Del Piero is keen to play in Juventus' new stadium, which is due to open next season.

:touched: This news is even better than my father giving me the news weeks ago saying I'll get a pay-rise.

Long life, Capitano. Never enough of you, hopefully in two years time we'll see you as our President.
