too bad i dont swing the fanboy way :smoke: lanza as clueless as he is would have given city's d more trouble imo, btw still laughing at me for saying tevez is better than rooney?
Lanza? Seriously?

Did I ever laugh at you for claiming that? I haven't watched enough of either this year but as far as I remember, Rooney was the better player and the one I liked more :D

there's not much anyone can do when we're playing 10 men behind the ball.
Preach on.

then why not put in a player with more pace to at least tire the opposition on breaks. alex would be more effective coming off the bench
Maybe because Del Neri wanted to play another tactics? Maybe because Del Piero out of all our strikers is the only one capable of holding the ball and open up space for our midfielders when needed and he did it several times?

I don't think Lanza, Quag, Iaquinta and Amauri combined do know how to act with the ball at their feet, none of them has half the vision of Ale and reads the game well. They don't know when to speed up the game and when to slow down pace and break the rhythm.

He's one of the few players that makes you feel safe watching when he's got the ball.

There was this counter attack in the 2nd half around 85min, when Del Piero was going forward and he couldn't be stopped until he looked like he lost control off the ball as it went a bit far from his feet but he went for the tackle:touched: and passed the ball to Pepe.

Pepe then tried to dribble past a defender instead of passing the ball.
