How is it ok to dislike Del Piero as a Juventus fan? :wth:

I have to say thats a first. Same goes for Pool fans with Gerrard, Real with Raul, Barcelona with Puyol etc.
Gerrard is 30, he still has some top level football years in him, Puyol is 32, but IIRC they did bring Chygrinsky (sp?) as a replacement but that didn't work out. Raul stopped being an integral part of the Real Madrid play since a while ago and played a bit player role. We're the only big club with a 35 soon to be 36 year old as an absolute starter in the world in a physically demanding position as a striker.

You obviously didn't get my point.
And you didn't get mine. I don't have Del Piero, for the last time, but he should not have the role he has now, and the fact that he wants to play ALL THE TIME makes it irritating. That I don't appreciate his past years, especially on his peak is not true but his clinging to a starting spot is sad. That does not equal hate.

It feels like you're a detective talking about terrorist or something...You really hate Ale these days don't you?
I can't hate somebody who is meaningless for my personal life or the life of my family.
I simply see Del Piero as a cancer to Juventus right now. Someone who is holding the team down. It could have been any Juve player, but it happens to be Del Piero right now whose presence in the team is doing much more harm than good. Tomorrow he might become a coach who will create a great Juve and be the main reason why the team is winning. I will adore him for that. But right now I can only be thankful for what he did in the past and wish he retires as soon as possible before he metastasizes.

Sorry, it's just that after being called everything for stating my point of view on him (and yes, sometimes emotion got the better of me), I'm already a bit predisposed. :)
Here you go :)

DP hater is the stupidest argument one could ever hear. I don't think its possible to support Juve and hate Del Piero. But its an easy way out of an argument, thats for sure.

I must say something to you Alen- I can't agree with you, but i got your point. BUT- I think that even from you point of view, Ale shouldn't retire. Even if you don't want him to play main role in the team, he can be more than useful as super sub or something. I believe you agree with me. So why don't you call for better use of Ale, instead of CANCER and RETIRE?

Because I don't think he will ever accept the bench. We had a perfect situation with Diego and Del Piero in the team and I was convinced that it was gonna be great. But I was obviously wrong. Del Piero must start. So if the choice is Del Piero to be Juve's main player or to retire, I choose the latter.

I gave up hoping. I realized that Del Piero will not accept to be 2nd fiddle to anyone. He threatened to leave when he was benched for Zlatan and especially after serie B he thinks that his place must be guaranteed. Ranieri benched him and after 2 weeks "Ranieri lost the locker room", Ciro indirectly but clearly said that he wasn't allowed to bench him while Diego benched him and got sold.

I will re-live through this season hoping that Del Piero and the others will get us a CL spot but in the summer it's bye bye time.
