They all could have 5 better seasons then Ale, only gilardino played at the highest level, the others don't, but he doesn't have the experience that Del piero has, so I rather take Del piero then Then the others who are mentioned, yeah Alex might not have his best season but he will be more fired up then ever! Alex knows how to play in a world cup! I hope Lippi will take him as the last pick!

But they are different types of players. Our CBs are good man-markers, but they aren't really smart. They can handle dribblers and physical players, but they have problems with the likes of Del Piero and Totti.

Unless Lippi has eaten too much of his own world cup winning shit...Totti and Cassano are miles ahead of Dp in terms of bringing fantasia to the azzurri squad. Just because he has a problem with Cassano, and Totti hasn't played in the qualifiers...it does not automatically qualify Dp for a role in the team. Because he is more often than not flimsy and seriously painful to watch. At least Neved kept his pride as he went out...DP is, I suspect, positioning his desired appraisal of his own talents, too far away from an objective appraisal of his talents.

Whilst he may well do something for the morale of Juventus. Which is dubious to say the least given this current season...there is NOTHING whatsoever to suggest that he could help the azzurri with morale.

I would be happy to see him put out to pasture...or at the very least eased out of the starting XI. The difference between him and Totti, other than age, is that Totti has remained far more potent ON THE PITCH.

Last Season DP did very well indeed. but the deterioration in his game this season has been swift and irrevocable. Despite all this, I DO HOPE HE PROVES ME WRONG. I DO HOPE he comes out next season, all guns blazing, and proves beyond any doubt, that he still deserves to be captain, and that he can still win matches. Because he is a Good, Loyal man, who has given much of his life to this club...and should be respected.
