You are all royally screwed in your minds if you really think that our problem this season is "not fielding Giovinco" or "not playing 4-2-3-1". If it wasn't for Alex, we would have been in a worse situation now.

He sure did. And he's still one of the best 2 players in the team.
But your theory that Ranieri and Capello had DP to save their ass while Ciro didn't, and how that's the reason why he failed while Ranieri didn't, just went down the toilet. :D
Not really. Alex never saved our asses when we had Ciro at the helm. He did it in the last couple of games, under Zac.

Yes, even Del Piero couldn't save us from Ciro. That's all I'm saying :D

Juventus, Zaccheroni: “Del Piero fuori precauzionalmente”

I couldn't understand much but I guess he will be ready for Thursday's match no?

He was injured most of time and it also took him a relatively long time to find his form (which is normal considering his age and the long period he was being sidelined). Ciro never had him in the way Ranieri did.

It's not mentioned directly if he'll play or not, but from the context it's clear that he'll surely be ready for Thursday. Fatigue was the main reason why he didn't start the match today. He was simply rested.

Yep, that's what I thought.

It's still weird that they decided to rest him 1hour before kickoff.

I hope Del Piero is not injured. Never the less, it wise not to play his today. He has been playing 90 min twice a week for a few weeks now. He deserves the rest.

We would have less problems if we actually gave the 4-2-3-1 a chance instead of just giving a good thing up when Ale returned.

Anyway, I really hope Zach sticks with the lone striker formation. I would be annoyed as hell if Zach makes the same mistake as Ciro did and reverts back to the 4-3-1-2. And tbh, I wouldn't even be surprised if he did cause I have a feeling that somebody wants this formation to work.

Not really, he was out injured for most of the time. Come on Mr. Mathematician.

Well when we where playing Diego-Del Piero-Amauri it was imo more 2-1 not 1-2 with Ale taking the left side spot. I think it would work with Sissoko-Marchisio-Candreva in the middle and Diego-DP behind Amauri, with DP cutting in from left. Camoranesi back would give us some options too, like 3-1 in attack.

It may be it was decided well in advance of that, but Zaccheroni didn't want to make Fiorentina aware of his plans.
thats what i thought ... might have been mind games ... so prandelli does prepare his team to play against two strikers ...

same thing what inter do occasionally the other way around ... the say on monday that a player is definite not making it for the next match and when the game is on he miraclous recovers and plays

ZAC: «L’ho tenuto fuori per scelta tec*nica. Ha giocato sempre, veniva da un infortunio, ha bisogno di riposare».

Translation: Technical desicion, he needed a rest.

So why he decided that 1H before the match, and vs. Fiorentina?

I hope there nothing else and that's really the only reason

I'm sure he didn't make the decision one hour before the match.

I didn't meant that. for the whole week we knew that Ale will start with trez up front, and suddenly, 1h before the match, Tuttosport said that Il capitano is injured and may miss the match. now Zac says that he's Ok, it was just a technical desicion. that's weird...cause if it's true how come no one knew anything about that for the whole week? if you want to give your player a rest, and in such important match, you don't decide something like that few hours before the game, and if he decided that earlier we would have know about it.

Just hope it's really a rest and nothing like injury or something
