Del Piero: We're all with Ferrara Tuesday 1 December, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has lent his support to Ciro Ferrara who is under increasing pressure in Turin.

After a bright start to the season, Ferrara has seen his side slump to third place in Serie A, eight points behind Inter.

Juventus President Jean-Claude Blanc and the club's patron John Elkann insist they have no intention of sacking Ferrara, but want great consistency from him and a sustained title challenge.

Saturday's Derby d'Italia is already expected to be decisive in determining the outcome of the title race.

“We won't hide. A difficult week awaits us, first Inter, then the Champions League, but we will get out of this difficult moment with togetherness and work,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.

“There have been negative moments, the most negative of all came only a few years ago. We rose again from that and we continue to do so today.

“It's the responsibility of everyone and without a shadow of a doubt the players; we have to depend on ourselves. But the beautiful thing in this negative moment that we are going through is that looking each other in the eye we have understood that we are all on the same wavelength and it's this union that makes the difference.

“The Coach is with us and we are with him, the club is also. We are at work. We have to do it. We have to correct many things and prepare ourselves well for this challenge and for the one that comes afterwards,” Del Piero concluded.

Good words from Il capi,
We need unity to come alive from this upcoming 2 games..... more now than ever.

This 2 games can pretty much make or break our season.

I checked the Misc section during Baggio's retirement, couldn't find anything. I checked Baggio's tribute thread also nothing. Probably in the matches thread? But I'll do it later. Will still try to find it. I wont let you down.

I have to be honest, my love of football hasn't really been the same since he retired.

Ahh, I remember those 1994 World Cup matches inBoston like it was yesterday :touched:

And I'm so glad that I got to see Alex play and get his autograph and picture, even if it was only a friendly. :touched:
Wow, you have so many memories and autographs.
I envy you for that Camo autograph you have.

I don't know why people make such a big drama with autographs.

"can you give me your autograph"

"...yea, sure"

it can just make me feel so small. Also, I couldn't care less for a piece of paper with his name.

I agree. Taking a photo with the player on the other hand would be awesome.

I asked for autographs from a bunch of Juve players and Raul too once. I had this expectation that it would be so cool to have. Then I left those pieces of paper somewhere in my house and I've never needed them for anything. I've no idea what the point was.
